Hi everyone,

I own a pop-culture blog site, where we cover what's going on on the internet (like viral stuff), interesting articles about celebrities, pictures, music, local events in my area, interviews, etc. Its a little of everything. So here's where I need help. I want to hire to have some SEO work done, at this time we are getting about 100 daily visits, sometimes 300. I want to increase the numbers so I can start charging for ads. I don't know where to begin, what type of KWs should I pick to start with? Something generic like "celebrity blog"? Or something more specific like "justin bieber". Since the site covers a lot I just don't know what would make more sense. Has anyone done anything like this before? Also the site is in spanish.

Thanks.

Keep your site broad to maximise potential but make posts very niche specific, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the tip, so far that's how we are doing it.

100 daily visits a day means that there are 3000 visits per month, you can charge a decent amount for ads right now ($20-50) have you tried adsense yet?

Yes we have AdSense, not making alot with it, $18 last month and $20 this month.

Start by understanding where your traffic is coming from right now - google analytics and webmaster tools will tell you this. You can then examine the traffic that these keywords generate in the google keyword planner.

You you then have 2 broad choices - optimise better for those keywords, or write content based on new keywords to attract traffic.

Based on the way you are describing things, it sounds like there is plenty of opportunity in the first option at the moment.
