For an adult site. Was going to sign up with WholesaleInternet but they're not taking any new accounts til late February. I'm looking at VRTServers.net unless anyone knows of a dedicated with 500gb storage and Cpanel w/ Unmetered bandwidth offered (usually around $20 extra). I'd like to keep it around $100 a month if possible.

Anyone know of something before I sign up with vrtservers.net?

    thx

yea, dont use vrt, lets see now, they deleted over 80 domains worth of data on me, gave my main ip to another server and made me change, had 8 days of downtime due to the ip problem, refused to get someone on it fast, in the end i asked for a kvm over ip be connected so i could debug it, found that the ip reallocation combined with a nic issue was the cause, they then said they would have to have a tech check it and it would likely be within 48hrs but unlikely within 24, they then proceeded to offer me 2 days credit if i remember right on my account even though they had done all of the above to me

stay the fuck away from them

    fdcservers.net for unlimited bandwidth
    volumedrive.com for anything else
worldstream.nl i havnt yet tried but look good

Unreal...thanks for the info. They sound almost as bad as Cirtex and I didn't think that was possible.

After hearing this I'm going to stick with my VPS for a while longer.

Since I'm in France, I'm undecided between volumedrive and worldstream.
VD is a bit cheaper, but I'll have a ping of 100ms and 20ms with worldstream.

Someone tried worldstream, any reveiw ?

Also, IDK if it's better to have the server in nl or in usa for the complaints, etc, since I'm European and NL is part of EU

Edit: Reviews seems ok on webhostingtalk

are you targetting us or eu traffic? that is your answer to the question right there, if your target traffic is us, get a box in us if what you are doing is legal in us, the closer the box is to your target audience the faster it is for THEM to surf the site, that is what is important here, your users, not your own latency

Sorry, forgot to say, it would be for xrumer autopligg etc ;)
So I was talking about the latency because the more latency the more sluggish remote desktop will be

just so its on record, volumedrive is who i ran to after vrt (iv used fdc many times but their $/server was just too much to justify at the time) and i have to say iv had a great experience so far, josh does amazing work and theyv even helped me take on an 800mbit+ ddos that hit my server, im still there, i didnt get charged any fee's for the ddos, they helped out as much as they could and they are real people, that said, they tend to screw up slightly on a new server setup randomly for me BUT, and i will put a big ass but there, if you ask josh what i am like with my requests for servers, i am VERY pickie about how things get setup and about what i want, im not surprised that little things get screwed up with my orders from time to time, they always make it right asap though and they work really well for both bhw and myself because we're both still keeping our servers there

so thats just my 2c, but since movin to vd, iv had minimal issues, most of which were my own fault, not the datacenters and when i has been the datacenter there was normally quite a valid reason for it, so take that how you like and im back off to do some coding here

Maybe they've had issues because they do not use antispam, and get more complaints

So, what config would you suggest to use xrumer fully with antispam feature ?
    Quad core with 4GB ram ? 8GB ? Win 2k3 64 bit ?

    i7, 6gig (if an i7 920) or 8gig (if an i7 800 series), windows watevr x64

warning, xrumer can be a bit unstable on x64 windows but generally once its up and running its stable, its just getting it fired up when u first start it up, at least thats been my experience

why an i7 you ask? because they are pretty cheap for INSANE amounts of grunt, anything core2quad up i would happily use and have used but if your ordering a server 'now' for xrumer, i would pick an i7 if it were to have antispam enabled

I`m in my second month with them and untill now i can say i am more then pleased. Fast support , very understanding .
