Need content organization advice

Hello, I have a question about how should menage content on my site.

let’s say that I write tutorials about a software,
should I do a single post about it or divide the content in a post for function?

if I explain a function of the software in a single post it could be that many times the article would be max 500 words… but if I include everything in one big post it could get really long.

Yeah but let’s say that you are writing tuts about a software… each one could be 300/500 words for article but if you write only one could reach easily 3000/5000 words with only 10 functions.

The first thing you need to do is check the competition for individual topics and how other websites have managed such content. Then it will be easier for you to make some plans accordingly.
 
I'd put each tutorial in its own separate page for easier optimization, but that's based on the little info you gave us. With more knowledge I might change it up :)

I agree with that.

If you are writing tutorials for a specific software you could make one page that explains what the software itself does, like a small intro, and have all the links to the different tutorials on that page, you could also interlink between the different tutorials for that specific software instead of making it one huge post.
 
I would say include everything in single content with 1000+ words.. that will be better while sharing.
 
Just make a function and interlink them with intro section will look good and optimize your content to 400 to 600 words.
 
You can make separate article for each tutorial and link them, so that it will be in coherent order for the reader to get the next step.

Yeah I was thinking of doing something like these… I was undecided as some may be just near 400 words long but put everything togheter doesn’t sound doable either so…

anyway thanks to everyone for the tips!
