ccleaner, turn off everything that starts up that you do not use, then clean your system with the same tool, you'll find you have gigs and gigs of garbage files, and it will clean it all...

second, mozilla + adblock plus... bam done.

optional : defrag ;x but if you're on vista no need... the index system they use takes care of it...
