Hey, I'm a noob and just tryin to get my feet wet in the biz with creating websites, many of them. I have never owned/operated any website before in my life and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some working knowledge of uploading files to a webserver and how to create folders on there. Also setting permissions, etc. Any direction would be great. Thanks!

Sections covering where to get an FTP client
    Uploading
    Configuring
    Renaming
    Deleting

Start there and then we can move forward.

you need to post your reqs/type of website/budget before ppl can recommend you. I never used them but I think dreamhost, host gator are some popular web hosts. if you are doing BH stuff, some web host might not support the php functions needed for BH, so check around before you sign up.

In your hosting panel, there should be something like adding domains and its directory.
