So I Took a Course on SEO 2 Years Back and the guy was a total scam. I'll not disclose his name.

Fast Forward To 27 Jan 2024, I'm more interested in SEO and start doing the business. I need to know Where to Start & What course to Pick. I am really in need of advice.

Many Thanks

you can safely disclose his name, scammers should always be called out and exposed :)

I'm not the best person to advise you on SEO since I've stopped doing it 2 years ago, but what I can say is that this forum is a good place to start. And I'm not even being a shill or anything, there's really a lot of (up-to-date) info in here that you won't be needing any expensive SEO course anymore.

But you'll have to look the info up yourself as it takes a bit of time (and the info is probably split up into multiple topics, across multiple sub-forums).

What I can say, however, is that - nowadays - the focus is on content quality, site structure and topical authority. Backlinks still do work, too, of course, but backlinks have been working since ages, that's why I said that the focus is on the other 3 factors.

Here are a few guides that explain the important parts. for more guides you'll have to use the search button yourself (also make sure to check out the "My Journeys" section, as it's pretty interesting):

With the resources available online today, you don't really need any type of courses in majority of stuff,
You can literally learn anything just by taking your time and searching in both Google & Youtube alone

Now a days no need to pay, If you are serious about learning SEO, then you can easily search courses on youtube, you can search SEO course beginner to advance, and you will get best courses.

Keep reading the forum and check Twitter and different FB groups. U will learn a lot without paying a dime

Fine advice is to search online and study online instead of paying money to such courses

YouTube is the best source to learn anything with your own space and time.

Exactly. Besides, You can target to focus on EEAT. Like always, backlinks will be a great motivator in ranking websites but having quality always works better than millions of low-quality backlinks.

SEO is not about learning its learning and implementing , without it you would be an unsolved rubix cube

I agree. Scammers should always be exposed to light. So that others could get rid of them.

These mentioned guides are useful. Also, youtube and ChatGPT could be of great help too, Mate.
