That's an awful lot of sales for $1,000 a month. I know you're trying to give to charity and all, but affiliates who've got the potential to reach that $1,000 a month break point on 1000 paying subscribers, would be better off doing even a mere 200 sales of another product which pays out say $40 a unit, and giving back from that $8,000 chunk.

If I were you, I'd contact some blog writers in the health industry and try get them in on what you're doing. Let them know it's for charity, and don't be shady, give them exact percentages and what not. They might even do it without the affiliate commission (I'd try this approach first, then throw in that they can get a $1 per paying referral afterwards).
