need advise about copyrights

Hi,

Lets say there is domain1.com that have a nice good written 5 pages,

let's say i really want those pages to be on my website, as both the domains are in the same niche,

my question is, 5 pages websites, if i change the text here and there, add some paragraph and change it, add some colors and template, But not too much, if someone will visit the 2 sites he will feel the text is almost the same,


is that allowed? Legally asking

your website will be detected as duplicate content by the Search Engines giving you shit ranks. on the other hand if you piss of the owner of the content you are copying he may/can/will sue you.

The good news: courts use a "dummy" test to find substantial similarity between two works. Dummy test means, that they ask Joe Blow how he sees it. No expertise needed, no diploma, nothing. Joe Blow is qualified.

The bad news is: that does not give you any guideline what you can do and what not.

I don't know whether statistical analyses (as performed by search engines and others) are acceptable in court. Judges like human beings when determining "similarity" and will not exclusively rely on machines/algorithms/computers.

I can well imagine that to slam someone a judge might say something along the lines of "It looks similar to me and my feeling is supported by a computer analysis."
