My website got hit during June Core Update 2025 and August 2025 Core Update. Position for many of pages is down. Clicks are down from 95 per day to 15 per day from Google. Impressions are down from 25k a month to 3k a month. I am still getting about 15 visitors from Bing and other search engines. But strangely, for some keywords with low volume, I am ranking on first page. None of the page got deindexed. Crawl budget is not reduced. My blog's keywords are way ranked down. But some commercial keywords are at their spot.
Probable reason for this hit can be two.
1. I did not back good backlinks.
2. I made spammy comment backlinks.

Now I cannot these comment backlinks. Now I have started to create niche relevant good authority backlinks. Will it recover it? What can I do to recover? Is there a chance to recover? Or should I start from a new domain? What do you say?

g updates crush thin link profiles. comment spam won’t age well. push fresh authority backlinks, improve content depth, reduce obvious footprints. recovery can happen if site isn’t manually flagged. nuking domain wastes equity.

You can recover, but it takes time. Spammy comment links definitely hurt, so disavow them in Search Console.

Keep building niche relevant quality backlinks and improve your content depth and E-E-A-T. If your domain has no manual penalty and still ranks for some terms, it is better to fix and wait rather than start fresh. Recovery can take months, usually after the next core update.
