Hi all! :)

I ultimately went ahead and bought Danny's ACMS :). It's been like a toy in a child's hand in my case... haven't flicked my eyelids from it since I got it! Exaggerations apart, it has literally kept me glued to it... for one small reason... the proxies! I tried everything the Big G threw me into, but found no proxy that could pass the ACMS. :(

I hope the master-creator will help me on this issue, but in the meantime, can some of you experienced guys tell me which proxies to use and where to find them?

I admit I am not (N-O-T) smarter than a fifth-grader when it comes to handling proxies. I guess not all types of proxies will work, esp with AC. I also don't want to sell what little gold I have to get them, because AC wouldn't foot the montly bills (pay higher than peanuts)... So please think about how to get those working proxies cheaply (read: freely, if possible! :)) And if you already know and if possible, please also disclose them to this anxious bro.

Thanks guys, (and it was a pleasure writing this... at least I discovered that I could freely admit that I'm definitely not smarter than those sly 5th-grade kids (who play with proxies)! :)

Enjoy!

I'd love to help you srb but I'm able to change IP's right at my modem. I know they aren't free, but everyone has indicated that Packetflip are the best solution. Hopefully someone will chime in with a free solution for you.

I know Danny has been busy with school, but maybe he will pop in with some options.

Thank you, dear Red. But I don't have the luxury of the right place, so that I too can use a dial-up dynamic connection and change my IP to suit the 'local' environment. :(

I knew Danny wouldn't be available to help me out immediately, but I am willing to be his proxy at school if he spares some moments on this. :) Not that it would help him get top ranks though... I left school and college by the time he wasn't even born, I guess! But I can always ask dear Santa to be extra nice to him this X-Mas, and to you too.

Thanks again! God bless! :)

Should I ask A*C to ignore our IPs at least (and ignore W-9 or whatever formalities too)? IMHO, A*C 'owes' our members a lot as it is already getting some fantastic attention from them!

P.S.: Must hit my bunk now... GN / actually GM all from my part of this wonderful world! :) GBY!

Hi there everyone, I've got the answer for you about proxies, but I do want to apologize for being absent from the boards lately. Gnex's new dog chewed through my laptop's power cable, so I've been walking around with a dead computer with all my ACMS and Topic Getter stuff. (among other projects and schoolwork)

My misfortune aside, here's how you can get around the proxy issue you are having...

The ACMS internet protocol (how it connects to AC, the license verification, etc) is the same as the one used for Internet Explorer, the web browser. If you go into your Internet Options menu on IE and set it to connect via a proxy, you will also be changing anything else that uses IE's protocol. This means, you'll change how ACMS connects to the internet.

So, put a proxy/port into IE, then leave the proxy/port fields blank in the ACMS. It should then connect via a proxy.

NOTE: Be positive that the proxy works with AC. To do this, configure IE to connect via a proxy, and then navigate to the AC homepage. If it works, you're good to go. If not, use a different proxy.

Hello Danny, :)

Thanks a lot for the top solution!

Your dog seems to like eating gadgets for breakfast! I wish he visits my home... my PC's backside is messed up with zillion meters of cables that will make his dinner 5-Star! Seriously, hope you get him a new laptop so he doesn't bother with yours. :) Anyway, I don't feel that any little dog can ever cause any misfortune to his master. I guess, he was simply trying to make it a little lighter for you...

I wonder if ACMS can use my FF + HideMyIP2009 combination like you said. Until now I was using this combo while submitting to AC. If this is is successful, then all your customers will have one of the best solutions at very affordable rate. As ACMS will still not make me feel better by not telling what IP it is using (as of now), I have a suggestion that can help all others... Can you automatically display what 'current' proxy-name (with the port address) is being used somewhere on ACMS? This will help me sleep lot better! :)

Thanks again, and the ACMS is simply what my "doctors ordered"! LOL. I was too lazy before I bought it, and it has now added to my laziness, thanks for that too!... I shudder to think of the times when I had to go through millions of pages, clicking 1000s of radio-buttons, entering 100s of text-boxes, and other stuff during the submissions.

Now your ACMS can help me bypass all that with ease! You call it ACMS if you want, but I'll love to call my ACMS a Porsche 911 Turbo... ;)

I completely missed a thread somewhere and have no idea what ACMS is. (blush) Sounds like a good program though. Can someone lead me to the watering well please? (holds out hand)

No problems, dear Shawndellah, we all get lost on BHW's maze of threads! :)

You'll find all about ACMS if you read the following thread, and there is a video file mentioned there to give you an idea of what it actually is:

Here is a kind man lending you his hand.... let me find my blind-man's stick first... :D

Well... um.. uh.. other than accidentally hitting me in the ankle with it.. the blind man's stick worked! Thanks so much. The video and everything was very very helpful.

does this also work if my proxy is being used in my firefox browser?
