Hello everyone! I recently started looking into Amazon drop shipping as a way to make a couple extra bucks a month. I've read a couple of the guides on here and have gotten inspired. However there are a few things I don't quite understand yet. I was hoping people could give me some advice on how to get started without much start up capital.

First off I've never sold anything on Amazon. I've sold on ebay, but I hear it's very different. Also I read a little bit about drop shipping. One big thing you need to find is a good wholesaler, which is where you would purchase your goods cheap and make a profit by selling them on Amazon. I've tried searching for wholesaler websites. Most of them that I've found require some sort of fee to gain access. Others that are free require you to buy in bulk instead of single items. The other option would be to just shop around different places online to find a cheaper item. However by doing this I don't have much room for profit. I have an idea on how it would work in my head, but I have not done anything yet.

This is how I see it in my head. Basically what I need to do is create an Amazon account. Apparently all you need is the SKU number of the item, and it will link to all the pictures and descriptions that you need. So first I will find a product on Amazon. I will search the net to find the same product on another store, but cheaper. I will list that product on Amazon, and make a note of where to buy the product if it sells. I think the best way to do this is to make a spreadsheet and keep things organized. I will rinse and repeat this many times for different items in different niches. Then it's a waiting game until a product sells. When it does I will cross reference the Amazon product with the place to buy it and place an order and ship it to the Amazon buyer's address. Is it really that simple?

I did some research on products, and I think there is a fair bit of room for profit. For example I found an ipod on Best Buy for $214 and it is selling on Amazon for $249. That would give me $35 if it sells right? Is that just how it would work?

Have you seen isaiahz thread? "How to make over $10,000 monthly selling on amazon/dropshipping without any investment "
It's a lot to read through but it will be worth it. Your questions are most likely answered in there. I'll try to answer them, but i'm not confident in my ability to help anyone on this subject yet since I just started learning this, BUT I can tell you this... if the ipod's total is $214 from whatever retailer you're getting it from and you sell it for $249 on Amazon (assuming that's including the fees and shipping), then yes, you'd profit $35. And also, yes it's easy to add products to amazon. Just put in the UPC and a list of the same items will come down and you'll have the option to choose one of them and then it will take you to the next page and you'll put in the condition, quantity, price, and choose the shipping methods.. it will also tell you how much you will get if the product sells, and then just hit save and finish and it will be published. isaiahz mentioned there's a way to mass upload upc's in that thread.

hopefully someone can help you out. as i said, im still new with this stuff also.
