Need advice on content and internal linking strategy

I have my homepage which is starting to rank for my main keyword and I'm thinking of making informative content like blog posts in that subject.
Do you recommend linking to the homepage using the keyword as anchor tag on every blog post? I'm not sure how often I need to link to my homepage using keywords and at what point it starts to look spammy to google. Of course, I don't think it's smart to link to my homepage on every blog post using my keywords as anchor text.

Also, if I want to rank for other keywords within the same niche, do you recommend creating entirely new pages / posts for it and linking to the homepage with new keywords? Would that confuse google about my main keyword?
