I am not mocking him, it is just....how can we help him? Why he opened this thread now instead of prior giving $5,000 to a complete stranger for a site that probably looks like trash. Its a lesson. Someone pays a lesson $100 and someone $5,000.
Or, maybe he got what was advertised but he expected something else ....I dont know. We don't know the details

You ask some good question but next time you should try asking them before you part with money.
You were scammed, you fell for it. You released the funds so basically you are f#cked.
You need to contact flippa and see if you can get the guy banned but I doubt you will get your money back.

The only thing you can do is write a compiling story book called "the worst flippa story, the nightmare of the beginner marketer" and sell it on amazon for earn again 5k
I really think if these day people want buy a site on flippa or another place we need to do a bank transfer and see the ID card of the guy, only in this way we can be protected from this kind of dirt scammer

Did you buy one of those sites that the seller vowed to be making $12k a month? Well, if you have the site for a month, what are the traffic source? Did you not confirm how the site is getting its traffic? Paid or free/ If it is free, did you not confirm the ranking?
Well, Flippa is full of shit, but sometimes, there are goldmines there. I have sold about 5 Amazon Niche sites and although it is over a year now. ALL OF those sites are still RANKING and Making the New Owners money. So do your due diligence when next you want to buy a site. If you are in doubt, ask here! You will get expert views.

But to be honest, you should have done a bit more research before throwing in 5K.
Any genuine seller who is selling the site for such an amount should be willing to co-operate with buyers before the transaction is completed. You should have checked the claims thoroughly by adding the seller of team viewer and checking the stats live.
Again, I can feel your loss, but nothing much can be done now. Your only hope is to contact escrow and see if they can provide any real details (like bank account) of seller.

First of all why buy a site from Flippa at all? If you're looking to invest in buying a website than find one that already is making money and send them an email.
Every site is for sale as long as you can pay the right price. Buying poor designed sites with good traffic and rankings can be a really good invest, you can get them for a decent price too.

You can try contacting flippa and escrow, but I dont think they will help because there have passed too many weeks already.
You can also try contacting the local authorities of the country were he lives. In some countries there are already ciber crimes department in the police, but you will surely have to go to the country to place the claim.

You could pay $5k for a site that brings in great money from google rankings...only to have the site get banned by google. What then? Did the seller "scam" you? No. $5k could have gotten you a really nice start on a legit setup. If you have the money...invest it wisely....not on a flip from another developer. Very rarely will someone sell a legit earner....unless the money is a real game changer.
