Apart from checking other factors, how much traffic do you guys usually expect a site should have before you publish your post on that site?

I usually go for sites with 1K or more traffic. And also, how much we can pay them based on their traffic?

guest posts are valuable for backlinks, and traffic plays no role in this scenario except for the fact that getting traffic shows that the site is in good standing with google.

If you want traffic, niche edits / link insertions / editorial links / whatever you want to call them are much more suited for this goal. And if paying based on traffic is how you want to approach sites the price varies based on niche, converting rates of that traffic, placement of your link / creative, type of content where the traffic comes from (informational, commercial, etc)

You should probably check network like buysellads.com, advertise.com, infolinks, revcontent, etc to see what the publishers in these networks charge, and based on what, and this will give you a rough idea of what you're expected to pay minimum, or on average. But even so, these are just guidelines because you can probably negotiate with the seller, but if you're approaching a seller of niche edits and say that you want to pay based on traffic they might tell you to go away :)

I also choose sites with 1k+ traffic, but if there are very few niche sites, you can use lower traffic. Sometimes I place on sites where the traffic is below 500, often these are good sites that are newly created. I think it is more important to pay attention to whether the traffic of the site falls or not, if it remains stable or grows, then this is a positive sign

yeah, right and how much do you usually pay for such sites?

I try not to pay for such sites, in return I am willing to provide them with a quality article. But sometimes it does not work, then I pay $20-$50

it depends if you have a team start on 1st day as it is time taking process.

Minimum 1K is better but the price of the backlink can't be decided only depend on the traffic. There are also other factors like DA,DR etc..

I was wonder if site has good stats DA/BL etc is traffic have anything to do with that in "seo" perspective?

I don't publish articles on sites without any traffic. I look for at least 1K+

I always look for +1k traffic, and I want that traffic to be distributed on different pages.

Then I look at these pages with traffic, are these pages niche related?
For example, if the website is in the finance niche and the ranking pages are ranking for non-finance KWs, I just skip these sites.

So, traffic relevancy and distribution are important for me.
DA-DR are 3rd party metrics with no value at all IMO

Though if a site have Good DA/BL only traffic indicates the site have real visitors. But you can get the link juice if sites have good DA,BL etc.. So if you want link juice you can get links from low traffic sites too!

Ok that was what I Thought but I was a bit confused.

A minimum of 1/10th part of the traffic should redirect to the main site is the maximum expectation by the buyers these days. This is only my point of view. There are many sites with huge traffic that may do this according to the content.
how much we can pay them based on their traffic?
Actually, the bloggers/site owners decide the price according to the engagement of the visitors mostly. Some of the sites offer less amount for the huge traffic sites. It depends on what the site owner exactly points out about their site.

Well, traffic has an importance but if the site is getting 1k views, how many visitors will it send to your site? Very few, isn't it?

So better focus on niche, DA/PA and DR (even though some people rule out its importance, but it matters for sure to check the quality of the domain). Also do not forget to check the backlink profile of the website in question.

Based on your observation you can negotiate with the website owner about the payment.

If the DA is low and niche is general then you should not pay much (may be $5 to $20).
If the DA is good and niche is relevant then you should pay $20 to $50 ?

However this is just a rough estimate and it all depends upon your understanding of the websites important, negotiating power, etc.

It's all are depends on site quality with content quality.

You can go for sites having 1K+ or more traffic. The price not only depends on traffic, it depends on other metrics too.
