The past couple of days I've been doing some research regarding blogging. I have the technical skills necessary to produce high-quality content, and also have a couple of ideas on how I could potentially grow and promote my blog. The problem is I'm having trouble settling on a niche.

My mind is going off into a million places and now I'm just not sure where to start. I'm trying to find a niche that has relatively low competition and benefits from the written content. Ideally, I'd like this to be profitable in the future, but I'm sure given time I can figure out a way to monetize most niches.

Am I overcomplicating things? Are there any other factors/variables I should be wary of? Should I go for a niche that I'm interested in even if it means it has more competition?

I could definitely benefit from some additional perspectives... Or, maybe I just need to stop being a bitch. Regardless, I appreciate all opinions.

I would go for a niche that you are at least somewhat interested in.
In the end, no matter how easy or difficult it is to make money in a niche, it will take at least a few months before things take off.
It is so much easier to stay persistent and write content on a regular basis if you give a fuck about what you write.

I agree with the others on this one. You're going to be for more invested and motivated to keep going if you are writing about a subject that interests you. It might be ok to pump out blog posts about any old current trend but if you are investing in a long term blog, stick with something that will hold your interest. Plus, it makes your writing far more interesting for readers as you can usually get a sense of the level of genuine enthusiasm that the blogger has for their subject matter. Good luck mate

You should start blogging on niche that relates to your hobby, that helps you to write more content about it. Like gadget reviews, vlogs etc., cheers
