need advice for automotive site

I've been playing around with this site for a few years and haven't really looked into advertising or affiliate marketing. I was wonder if BHW could point me in the right direction.

I have an automotive forum/blog that gets 3-4,000 unique visitors a month. I run a few other automotive sites relative to motorsports and my niches geographic location. This site has the largest audience, and I'd like to build upon that.

What's the first steps towards earning $ for a small automotive site?

I know this is an old thread, but i figure it wouldn't hurt to revive it. If you still have it - I'd love to maybe have a link exchange with you.

Also, to make money - I'd say just sell adspace - this will get your a lot of retailers contacting you that sell automotive goods, just to sell their product with an ad on your site.
