I started a blog 2 weeks ago and targeting few keywords that have around 10k local monthly searches. I wrote 10 articles with keywords density around 2-3%. The articles are re-written. My link is submitted in few web directories but only 1 approved it. What should I do next? Should I write more articles or start link building? I was thinking to add it to top 10-15 article directories. What should be my next steps? My plan is to rank my blog on top 10 places in google and monetize with Adsense.

Why use are using re-written article for adsense? use unique and high quality content.
To promote your blogs you can submit that on blog directory and create rss feed and bookmark each article when you post.

Because these 10k keywords probably have very strong competition, you may want to consider other backlinking methods as well. If money is tight, you should at least write blog comments every now and then. And if you are already rewriting articles for article directories, rewrite an article or two for web 2.0 sites as well.

Article directories have different ways and criteria of reviewing content submitted for approval on their site.
Some of the reasons why directories can reject your content are:
1. Plagiarism
2. Grammatical error
3. High keyword density
And various others but the above are the main reason since the Google update.

I found that the hard way.
Today I started building my FB and Twitter pages. Submitted my link to 50+ RSS and blog directories.
I read about doing Web 2.0 sites, posting 1-2 articles in them with 1-2 anchor links to my main blog. Is it appropriately to do that if my blog is blogspot.com ?

It would be good if you don't spin the articles.. Search Engines don't like spun articles. And try to publish in good quality article directories.
