I am building a site for 1 cb product.

I feel I have made a great homepage because I go very personal to build trust. Homepage gets around 4k searches for its primary keyword.

My only concern is the length. The homepage is 2400 words long.

If someone reads it all I feel they would buy, but I am worried that because of its length they simply wont read it compared to if it was only 800 words.

Is there any proof that people wont read a long article like this to solve a problem.

If so there should be a way to increase the liklihood of reading by including something like "read the full article, 10 minutes of reading is worht a lifetime of happiness/solution/wahtever"

When in doubt about these things, ask yourself, what are the best-selling vendors in your niche doing? Check out the top products (gravity-wise) in any niche and 99.9% you'll find either a video sales letter, or a LONG sales letter. Why? Because it works.

You can always add an "Buy Now" link in different parts of the sales letter.

Key rule here is to test+test+test different landing pages (short or long copy, with/without VSL, different call to action buttons, different header titles, with/without header banners, the width of your content table and so on).

Why? because what works great for one audience may be a nightmare for another.

Know your audience first, test different psychological elements and only then publish with dignity knowing that you have a winner in your hands.

Mike.
