Hi sorry if this is the wrong section I'm not really sure where to post this but I think it fits in with Proxies best..

So have a piece of software that I want to run 24/7. I can't use my computer while the software is running. I also can't run it on my other computer because I don't have access to the internet 24/7 so simply using my other laptop isn't an option.

What I want to be able to do is set up or buy some kind of virtual computer that can run the software 24/7. How would I go about doing this?

The software isn't very complex and doesn't require a large amount of space or a lot of processing power to run. It's basically an article poster that posts my many articles to article databases such as Ezinearticles

Any info or help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance!

Assuming that the software runs on Windows, having access to a Windows VPS would solve your problem.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The software does run on Windows. Would you be able to recommend a suitable VPS supplier or will pretty much any VPS do the job? I guess if you have access to a virtual desktop with the VPS then you can pretty easily run this type of software right?

umm. go look around. There's that web hosting place that has deals all the time. It really depends.

1. bandwith
2. ram
3. cpu

that's mostly what you're looking for

Okay so I think I understand this whole thing a little better. I need a Virtual Private Server.. Then access the VPS using Remote Desktop. Then I'll be able to install software on the VPS via remote desktop. Then run it and that's it..

Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything. A good choice would be xsservers.

Nope, you got it. A Wndows VPS will come with remote desktop.
Just make sure the T&C's dont explicity ban your software.

Also be aware that not all software designed for home use will run on windows server, some will check and require an upgraded licence, others might just not work, though most will be fine.

If in doubt only pay for 1 month up front whilst you test it out.

I can't make any specific recommendations, as I haven't used a Windows VPS before, but just do some searching around the forum for VPS providers.

R u planning to run Xrumer ??? if yes u bettr go for dedicated instead of VPS !!

Dude - if you have a fast connection at home, buy some 200 POS computer with a gigabit LAN and run it on that. I had something similar but it need CPU and memory and I built a 3-core AMD, 8gb of ddr3 10333 ram, gigabit LAN computer for 450$. If you want the specs, pm me

Thanks a lot for all the answers so far. At the moment I went with vpsland but they haven't emailed me the vps info and it's been 2 days.. eugghh such a pain.

I would run it but I'm not at my home at the moment, so I can't run any software 24/7 on any of my pcs
