Need a Programmer/Designer to make a Search Engine!

Hello. I am looking for a programmer to make a search engine for a specific niche. I own several ecommerce site so will have tons of future work.

Search engine site will need a Blog and forum aswell.

Give me a ballpark on how much it will cost and how long and we can go from there

Before Building a Search engine..first you need to design an algorithm for the ranking strategy..you have an algo in place?
 
Will you be telling it what sites to index? Or are you going to need a crawler that can identify sites of a specific niche from the gazillions on the net? Big cost difference depending on the method.

I agree with this. If you can collect a list of sites to index it will be extremely cheaper than building a crawler/spider to identify specific niches. If it is the former(first one), let me know and I can do this.
 
Let me know if you plan to compete with Google - will give you an algorithmic support free of charge. I am sick of that search engine. :-)

Yes I will be telling you which sites to crawl. About 10-15 sites in particular. Should have the option for adding zip code searches for the items, WP and a Blog.

Also a Blog that allows customer to have accounts that will allow they to paste Paypal, 3rd party "Buy It Now" buttons and upload pics

But no, just taking a passion into a business.

What I am looking to build is something a little like search tempest. Let me know if you can help and a ballpark on cost and completion time. Thanks in advanced
