Need a Niche

So I've tried weight loss - no such luck
The survivalist niche - no such luck.

Is there any niche out there that is proven to work for 2016? Because it seems people just want FREE stuff these days and not willing to pay for anything.

I have been trying to make money online since Dec 2014 and I don't know where I'm going wrong but I just can't seem to get it to work. I am using email marketing, btw. And people just aren't willing to pay for things. I have been promising my partner that it WILL work eventually, I am just lost right now and don't know what to do.

Any help will be appreciated.

i can see where you are going wrong, you are jumping from one thing to another. Stick with one and build it up
 
Try monetizing with CPA or ads if you can't sell anything. Stop jumping from method to method. Find something and stick with it even if you fail at first.
 
it is best to use a niche that you know the best
usually you are most familiar with the niche which you struggled with the most

So...use niche about niches :D
 
Pet niche seems to be a popular one if you can monitice it

I tried Weight Loss because I know a lot about that niche. My stats are good and people keep reading my emails but they aren't buying anything. Hence why I'm trying to find something that's proven to be profitable.

I read that weight loss isn't worth trying because it's too saturated with zero trust, because when people need help they are just sent to something they need to pay for, is this true?
 
You need to go with a niche where you understand the average user's mentality. From there you can figure out where they are most likely to be found (forums / social media) and what they are likely to purchase.

In regards to weight loss it's just an extremely competitive niche. Maybe you're hitting the wrong angle with it that isn't making people want to buy.

I've tried weight loss, survival and MMO gaming niche. But I didn't build an email list for the gaming niche, it's just a review blog of gaming products. Only made 2 sales on that out of about 1500 targeted traffic
 
Back in the day I made 1k in a week on yahoo answers from the "Make money online" niche. Yahoo answers is now pretty much dead but the niche is still very much alive. Though the most important part is to stick to your niche.
 
There's a big difference between targetted traffic that are interested in buying
or interested in learning stuff about the niche.

Your obviously off target.
 
Sounds like you are just not that great at sales. Do you have any sales experience. I can tell you the exp. I gained from 10 years of sales helps a TON. Retail sales is ok but it is nothing like working on commission. Honestly if you are having a hard time closing someone on a sale go work a car sales job for at least 2 or 3 months just try again. You will do MUCH better.

If you are relying on the company's landing pages and email marketing to do that trick... ehhh why are you wondering why its not working then?

Honestly you can make money in any niche. Stop trying to blame the niche and saturation. Build trust and build value.

How long have you been working on your weight loss site and survivalist site? How much content do you have?

Maybe consider adding Adsense as another revenue source? Amazon Affiliates like @Jaydee1988 is a good idea, too. People trust Amazon, and you could write product reviews to get people interested in buying.

Weight loss/fitness is a tough niche, so I would suggest targeting long tail keywords to get traffic. I'm focusing exclusively on long tail keywords on the sites I'm building now.

Edit: Improving your copywriting skills is also important. I have CA$HVERTIZING, The Sales Bible by Jeffrey Gitomar, and Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion on my reading list.
 
The thing is, I'm not trying to make a quick 30-40 bucks. I want to build a business. I'm trying to sell something that will add huge value to their lives, free trial with a monthly recurring income so I can keep earning, not get paid once and that's it. Is this where I'm going wrong?

You can do it either way honestly. Actually you can make recurring income from a bunch of one off sales.

Getting people on monthly plans is not a simple task. You have to provide value clearly in a way that others are not and you need people ranting and raving about how great you are. You will have to figure out how to get that before they start actually using your service. I'm sure you have read plenty of great ideas on here already.

You just have to keep pushing.

If you fail 100 times it doesn't mean that the 101 will be a fail. It might be the break to true financial freedom.
 
@OP we are in the same boat. I've been trying to build a business for 4 years and sadly I don't have good results. But, I'm still sticking with my niche and seeing some improvements. I knew someday it will go boom.

I'm selling 2 great eBooks that I have wrote - along with a monthly newsletter with massive value.

But I can't seem to sell it, and I have set it as $7 per month. This is so frustrating.

And I do have a landing page for this product.

Sounds like your on the right track. Just keep pushing. It is a struggle for all of us. If it was easy everyone would do it.

My suggestion if you are not doing it already would be to promote this thing like crazy on social media. Do everything you can. If it is not selling then maybe it is priced to high or maybe people just don't trust the branding you have like the ebook cover or logo or business name or anchor text may sound to salesy

Its hard to fully say without seeing it and obviously you shouldn't share for good reason.
