I found this somewhere.. Maybe you find it helpful...
Main Name (no descriptive word)
- Pros: It's very clean. If Main Name were punchy by itself and you could register www.mainname.com, it could work.
- Cons: It's unclear as to what business you're in just from the name (unless your main name is very clearly game related)
- Note: You probably an untaken main name that allows you to register www.mainname.com regardless of the descriptor word, but the descriptor does allow more options.
Main Name Games
- Pros: It's direct and unassuming. You make games, and it's clear.
- Cons: It limits you to only games, which may be an issue if you wish to expand into auxillary areas.
- Note: Games does work well with "Main Name" for aesthetic reasons.
Main Name Entertainment
- Pros: Slightly more grand than "games". It also covers a larger range.
- Cons: Sounds more like a large company name. Plus it's longer to spell, which is an issue if it is part of your web domain.
Main Name Studios
- Pros: Suits a small development house. Sounds artistic. Can expand into other non-game areas.
- Cons: It isn't clear what your studio does just from the name: games, artwork, writing, web development? Plus isn't it technically just a "studio" if you work from one room?
Main Name Productions
- Pros: Grander. Can expand into other art works than just games.
- Cons: Sounds more like a film studio name.
Main Name Software
- Pros: It's pretty clear you're a software company with this name.
- Cons: But it only works for a software only company. Plus to me it sounds a bit flat.
Main Name Interactive
- Pros: Slightly more spark than software.
- Cons: I'm not sure why, but this sounds rather nineties to me.
