Need a little help!

Hello, I am just curious how this would work.

I am thinking about starting to write articles on fiverr. They will be 100% hand written by me! the gig will go along the lines of this, "I will write a 300+ word article for only 5$!". Now I will be able to pump out a quality article in a couple minutes.
I will be doing this in my spare time just for some extra cash, it's not meant to be an income or big money maker, just looking to make 5-20$ a day to help out.

It's going to be really hard to start getting sales on a fresh Fiverr gig with no previous sales or reviews, especially if you're just writing articles and not doing some brand new and unique idea. You'd probably be better off offering your services on a forum, like BHW or Digital Point (although I don't like that place, your rate would probably go over well there). Good luck.

Ok, a couple of thoughts:

1. It's not original, but I'm guessing article writing works, because there are a million guys on Fiverr doing exactly the same thing. If I were you, I'd add some sort of twist to your service, to distinguish yourself. You could offer 2x300 word articles instead of just one.

2. Work on your punctuation. You aren't a bad writer, from what I can see from your post, but there are a couple of mistakes there.

I like to base my income on an hourly rate. Doing a job on fiverr shouldn't take me more than 10-15 minutes. Any longer, I'll be wasting my time, and could be doing something else that could be earning more. That's just me though, and I'll admit that any money is good money when you're just starting out, or looking for some quick pocket money.

So you want to be a freelancing writer, good. But try to find a particular niche that you are really good in and advertise yourself as an expert in that particular field, you will look both professional and unique. Also have some sample articles to hand out in case you are needed to do so and state clearly that they cannot be use without your permission and without being credited for them. As for the places you can advertise your work: forums, facebook groups dedicated to professional writers, why not, you may never know where you will find the best offer.

If you can get accepted to sites like Textbroker, you can probably make out better.

I had a writing gig on Fiverr some time ago and was able to get some work, but I'm not terribly fast, so it didn't seem worth it. On Textbroker I was free to select from a number of jobs to take on, and I made more money with it.
