Need a little help or guidance please

After many years lurking in the forum from time to time, I've decided to give it a go to Affiliate marketing through Clickbank, the thing is, there's just sooo much information around and I'm in no way near intermediate experience but I've selected what I think it's a "decent" choice of a product (I'm still not really sure about the product and I know is something extremely vital to pick the right product), with that in mind, I was thinking about learning how to run a paid ad campaign instead (I've read the name of proppellerads on another guide on the forum and I'm thinking about doing more research on that regards) of bashing my head with organic methods that may or may not get me somewhere or maybe even discourage me completely out of IM because for personal reasons I really need my first steps to provide some degree of success, now I know nothing comes without investing something wether it's time or money for example but I'm willing to even paid if necesary for someone to teach me, point me to the right direction or even help me achieve the first baby steps if possible.
