im using this theme moviesitepress and can't get thumbnails to show up, i know where the code for thumbnail is in and need to figure out how to make it grab the first image from the post into a thumbnail

ive tried couple of plugins including Get The Image or something like that, nothing, maybe im doing something wrong i dunno

hoping someone here would know how to do this, ive been pullin my hair since yesterday trying to get this to work and gave up hoping to find someone here that knows how to do this lol

will appreciate it and +rep to whoever helps me, thanks!

try using the wp tube 3.0 by ahmad
and for the thumbnails search for the youtube thumbnailer,
or are these videos from other places?

It could be because of image size.

4. The thumbnail: the normal size of the image that you should upload should be 500x313. This is if you want it to be featured on the sliding header. The theme will automatically resize it to 192x120 to be used as a thumbnail image. If not, 192x120 is good enough.
If nothing works, you have to contact support finally ;)

I'm having the exact same problem as OP. It isn't because of image size, i've tried all different sizes of .jpg and .png. it sucks because it used to work for me but only stopped after changing servers. have no idea what the problem could be, can anyone help?

i can help, if it using Get The image

Not sure if this would have anything to do with your problem, but I have a site hosted with HG. One theme I use for a clients site uses timthumb. For whatever reason, HG would not like it work. I had to contact support and get them to white list (or white label, can't remember what it was called exactly) the domain I had the theme on. Two minutes later, all my pictures where showing. Only problem was it was on a temp domain as I didn't have the clients domain purchased yet, so once I switched it all to the new domain, I had to do it all over again.

So....now that all of that is said, if it uses timthumb or maybe some other image script, you may need to get your hosting support to white list the domain.
