I have this fairly simple idea of this software. I know the basics of programming and computer science, but do know know how to apply them to create software and such. I honestly do not even know how a software is implemented into a website; but that is what I want. As I have stated, I have this simple program that I would like to build. It's a program that I would like to build for myself, and maybe earn a little profit while others use it. I know that an idea is for away from a software/item, but I am a bit stuck on where to go next. I don't plan on studying computer science, as it is not my interest ( well not too much) . Where can I find someone/someplace where I can express my idea, get potential developers, and maybe get investment into this project ; without upholding it to everyone who would potentially want to steal it. Like I said this software would only be used for me, and I would release it to the public for free if it goes through. I have researched about it, and my software does not relate to anything on the internet. I would greatly appreciate any kind of advice, be it good or bad.

    I have considered
    legalzoom and inventhelp

Find a lawyer specializing in software contracts.
Get a contract written and signed by any devs.
    Proceed to build.

It's going to cost more, but if integrity is a concern, there you go.

I recommend looking for local developers and getting them to sign a non-disclosure and non-compete agreement prior to pitching.
Again, any developer willing to do so is going to charge more because of it, but welcome to business.

If you intend to just release it.. don't worry about people stealing the idea. They'll do it after it's released anyway.
Your goal should be to do it best.

You have an idea! Unique & amazing asset

Ideas are worth exactly zero. What IS worth is the execution. People don't fund ideas, they fund those who will create profits from the ideas.

That doesn't mean that you have to do the execution yourself, it means your part is going to be FAR more intensive in terms of time and capital. If I understood correctly your post, you want to find suckers who will provide the capital & knowledge & effort while you'll sit around and enjoy the whatever "benefits" of the venture because you have "the idea". Do you believe in Santa?

Yes, based on the information I have gotten. I think it is fair to say, that I should do this as a hobby, and by myself. I think the best bet for me is to start taking a few computer science/software classes that introduce me to programming.

Well honestly, I was just looking for some help. I definitely do not want to sit around. I would want to do most of the work myself, even the coding; but it is hard for someone who has an idea, but no skills to develop it. Thank you for your opinion, and I do understand that an idea is far away from a implementation of an idea. I just wanted other people's opinion on how I can possibly start it. Thank you.
