OK, so I need to do the following:

- White hat link building
- Build my own PBN and boost my own sites/client sites
- Any form of SEO that won't penalise me long term (im growing sites not earning a quick $)

What are the BEST tools to have for this?

I have heard Ahrefs, SEMrush, Majestic and Scrapebox is good for this, but wondering what is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for this, as I am on a small budget starting off, and don't wanna splash out the cash as I'm already going to be paying for my own PBN sites.

Also need to find good expired/expiring domains to help me build the PBN. Is Scrapebox good for this?

Forgive me as I am new to SEO. Any suggestions?

Ahref/majestic/moz are good for whitehat as they help you in blog outreach by finding niche relevant and competitor links. If you want to keep the budget low, there are some sellers who sells VPS server with these tools pre installed. That would be cost effective for you. Use search engine to find such sellers. Yes, Scrapebox can be used to find expired domain but there is a learning curve if you are new to SEO. I will suggest you to stick with godaddy auction/Expiredomain/registercompass etc.

Keep watching BHW and you'll learn everything.

What is essential is learning, testing, implementing and improving.

For long term SEO, You need to have an eye on your competitors. Try to buy ahref first which would be the bull's eye to watch out for competitors. Then guest post tracker to outreach niche-based blogs for guest post. Then SEM Rush, Moz, Keyword Revealer if you can extend your budget

Ahrefs, SEMrush, Majestic is great. But it's ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for this time because you're am on a small budget starting off, what is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY in this period:
- Scrapebox: Find powerful, high authority expired domains
- RankerX: Automatic tool to Build your own PBN and boost your own sites/client sites

I think you approach this the wrong way.

You need to determine what you want to do and only then look for the tools that (help you) do those things. Not the reverse.
It's like asking "what vehicle is necessary to go to X city ?", well, decide first if you want to go by car, train or whatever and only then you can take recommandations & make a choice.

For example when you say "whitehat link building", what do you really want to do ?

It could be guest posting
  • you might want to scrape possible websites by hand, or find a tool for that
  • you might want to do outreach by hand, or find a tool for that,
  • etc.

It could doing infographics to get links
  • you might hire a designer, or taking a design tool to do it yourself
  • etc.
It could be something else, etc ..

i use only ahref and semrush but its expensive :weep:
to find expired domain i use expireddomain net

Very good point. And yes, guest posting. But also writing blogs on my own website and encouraging others to link out to that blog post via email. So I guess Scrapebox is important here? - I'd like to automate the email sending using spintax (if possible) as well. I'm trying to get as many contextual links as possible from niche related websites, so this is all to do with writing blogs on mine and other websites.

I have used Neil Patel's free SEO Analyzer tools, which help me analyse competitors, but I'm not quite sure what Ahrefs can offer that is $99 a month worth (I'm only working on growing 2 websites at the moment)

Black Hat: I think @bekemew has answered this in terms of PBN tools - thank you @bekemew

Scrape box is must and GSA is a good option too.

Ahrefs is a must. If you cant afford it get a groupbuy.

RankerX can solve your Web2.0 Needs.

GSA SER, CB and Indexer will do the job for Tier Blast.

Ahrefs - For pretty much everything related to keyword research, website audit, content analysis, competitor´s analysis, finding link building opportunities, etc. You can get it cheap by joining a group buy.

Go and download Putty/Bitvise SSH client first. :D
Then scrapebox.
and a groupbuy would be way better than buying all ahrefs+mangloos+moz etc (it maybe slow but once you test and know tools - you can decide for yourself; which ones worth the money and which doesn't)

Free resource: expireddomains.net for domain research

Links generated from automated software are no longer effective - been using these for ages, but past 3 years, none of the links generated from an automated software works any longer. But links from the automated software still does a decent job in getting something indexed though. SB and a rank checking software are 2 essential things that you must have in your arsenal.
