what is the rate per week, on how many links i can build to make it appear natural? (obviously links to my money site)

Im looking for numbers on the higher end of "natural"..

Thanks.

for argument sake lets just say they are new sites..

If Naturally then build your links manually
it will be fine

There is no right answer. Some sites explode with popularity immediately. Some are rarely even found. The only answer is, whatever you start with, maintain that pace and consistently go up from there. Slow or fast, your choice. What I wouldn't do is blast 1000000 links at once with an automation tool.. not that you cant use one, but use it slow and sparingly, or it will look fishy. Use your best judgement.

ya i have tools, which is why i was askin just like ya said sammy, short and sparingly.

Was just curious tho because i built a clients site and made like 600 BL in the first month...On page 1 and everything. So i was just curious as if i was building maybe a little to rapidly or not..

Im still new to SEO, just caught on quicker than most noobs :D

600 in a month sounds just about right.. not too many, not too few, nice and comfortable. Some might drop, too, so I would just cut back slightly, maybe 400 next month, then more the next. Really, randomness and diversity is key as well as consistency. Then see what sticks, or which ones are high quality links, and build backlinks to those backlinks.:drive:

It all depends on your consistency. If you can build 1,000 links per week, for example, and then increase that number over time, who is to say it's "not natural"? Just because it's a big number? no way!

Imagine when a site goes viral...a video can get millions of hits and thousands of backlinks OVER NIGHT....and Google will LOVE and PRAISE this site!

"Natural" to a machine is relative :)

The key is to make it LOOK natural a.k.a consistent

Also take care to use different keywords. If you had 1000 links suddenly built for a keyword like "instant profits" its gonna raise a lot of red flags. Make the quantity as random as possible. You may want to take a week to do directory subs/classifieds postings, another to do articles, another to do squidoo, another for FB and other social networking so the sum total will look messy enough for the SEs not to sit up and take notice. My experience with automated link building is that the results are really fast but the links decay really quick too.

yes building backlinks to backlinks, Tier 2 BL, w/e u want to call them...

an ya mikey i see your thinking.. if i come out blasting 1k links a week i better at least maintain that same speed (give or a take a few hundred every few wks or so, u get the picture obviously)

Yes, that's why I say 600 sounds right, you can always build up from there, so it looks natural. Then what innova said about the keyword. Mix it up. Viral sites that get 1 bazzilion links to it usually go downhill from there, cuz it's sort of a fad.. I would rather start slow and build consistently upward, to build a nice, solid foundation. Everyone is right here, like I said, there is no real right answer! :)
