I do check accounts through google for the last 24 hours. I don't know if it is better or worse to do that. I know though that every time I checked it seams to be people with loads of followers. I don't scrape all followers on those accounts. I scrape the top because I believe that the active users are landed on the top. They clicked the follow button so they should be active.
The reason I don't have a crazy growth is because I try to stay under the radar. I follow less than 100 a day.

I would say the profile picture without hesitation.
For example if you have a profile picture of a 90 year old lady and in your BIO you say that you're an expert binge drinker. That would scare away many people. Still the bots will always love you no matter what.

My profiles are all highly optimized. I created them all manually, collected pictures I deemed to work best with my target audience, collected bio's of similar accounts and adjusted them to fit my target audience.
Sometimes you follow a batch of 250 and get 25 follows, sometimes you get 50.. Guess it comes down to a little bit of luck and also the people that are in the batch.

That is weird. I thought I got a sense of pattern chosen from a mix of photos. If the photos are emotionally friendly and not way off normal then they do good.
But on the other hand if your photos are all really good and optimized then you get the best from that parameter. So then there is more parameters involved that I don't know of.
I have only been on my journey for several days though, time will tell if the other accounts keep on doing worse than the first accounts I made.. I feel like they will pick up the pace soon, as well.
From my observations from doing a lot of manual Twitter building using Tweepi there's some things I learned that would improve your follow-back ratio:
1. The more recently a user has been active, the higher the chance that person is actually still online. The person is just reading tweets etc. and as you follow them, they will see the notification directly, which will then lead to a higher chance of them checking out your profile.
* I feel like a function to follow users that have been active within a matter of minutes, would be a great addition to any Twitter bot. Personally, I am using Follow Liker, which let's you follow people that have been active in the past day.. which is good, but I think even better results could be achieved with what I just described. Not sure how hard something like that would be to implement though.
2. Don't follow people with a too big amount of followers. I personally only follow people with up to 2,000 followers. I think the more followers someone has, the less likely they are to follow you back. They might also just be building your account and just ignore you. By using this as a filter you will also avoid following a lot of companies, somewhat famous people, entertainment, music pages etc. that are less likely to follow you back.
3. Maybe set a minimum amount of followers one user should have for you to follow them. This could be a low amount (like 5 or 10).. by using this you are likely to avoid very newly created accounts that were just made to spam or whatever. Ofcourse, you will also miss some normal users that just created their account.
Okay so these are just some things I wrote down.. maybe you can do something useful with it and implement some things in your own coded bot (you coded your own bot, right?).

Thanks for the thoughts. I don't worry to much. I think I have the setup covered pretty good. I scrape only followers of people with many followers. Following people with many followers is as you wrote something you should avoid. The idea is to "steal" the followers.
No mate you didn't get the point straight. I was referring to the scraped users, the people you scrape from the big accounts, those shouldnt have high amounts of followers. Get it?

If you get over 2000 userid-x then it is bad?

Accounts with a bigger amount of followers are more often: business pages, authority pages, just bigger pages in general that are LESS LIKELY to follow you back. Which would mean you followed them for nothing. When following people with less than 2,000 followers, you can asume you will follow less businesses etc. meaning you will get a more targeted public and also a higher follow-back ratio.

Exploring ogmobi.
Right now I need a couple of live samples to find out a good approach.
I'm also waiting to be accepted by ogmobi.
Guys I'm very uncertain of this. From what I have found when I click links is that avast antivirus is going crazy. Don't know if it was something with ogmobi but I don't want to trick people into downloading a virus.
My model I think is going to be wordpress.com and youtube.
I need to figure this out.
