Hey T10, Great Post...will be watching your success
I'm just hair behind you with my nanoblogging implementation...and I do have a question regarding the Iframe.
I created my offer page... with the most important details and link at the top of course... But my title and sub is taking up too much space for what needs to be IFramed and looks too repetitive compared to the actual homepage the iFrame is on....can you take out the title for the offer page, but leave it for homepage/sitemap/etc.?

Hi Joe,
Your offer a.k.a homepage page doesn't have to have an iframe on it, in fact it is best if you don't have an iframe on there. The only focus for your offer page needs to be the offer.
If you are using the 600px thesis blog layout then your iframe needs to be no greater than 600px in width. The height more or less is up to you. My iframe dimensions are 600px/350px (width and height respectively).
I only have my action message iframe showing on blog posts. I figure since I am going to be linking directly to some of these posts I might as well focus my action message there.
Creating an image for your action message is a very convenient way of displaying the iframe. For now that's all I am testing.

Sweet thread! I was just thinking the other day it would be cool to see a live case study for a nanoblog. Thanks for all the updates on your progress, T10.
I'm also working on a nanoblog, combining parts of Google Traffic Pump with the nanobloggers system. For the time being, I'm letting Google Alerts run for a few days to refine the results it's bringing back.
I suspect name.com will roll out a christmas promo for .com's tomorrow, so if you haven't started a nanoblog yet, wait until tomorrow to register the domain.

Hi Everybody,
The nano blog is setup and ready for my first post. It has been tough going setting up sites in Ping.fm and onlywire (and that's with Roboform!), but thankfully I have managed to complete that side of things.
I am trying to gather the sites that my 'market' frequents but I am finding that the google alerts mostly point to sites that are auto-blogs.
A lot of these sites have comments disabled so that completely defeats the object. I think I am going to change my approach slightly and use Alexa.
My question therefore is this:
What are the sort of traffic estimation for sites that are in the top 500,000 in Alexa. Should I be focusing on blogs/forums in the top 100,000 or are there lots of trafficked sites up to the 500K threshold...
Any guidance on this would be much appreciated since I don't really understand the Alexa/Traffic volume relationship.

Saw your blog. Great Job. Noticed a few things.
Contact page: has no contact info. Just another comment page. No Persona picture displayed.
Privacy page: Just another comment page. Find Privacy statement from some one else's blog and copy as last resort.
Blog page: No offer at the top of this page or any other page.
All in all, a very good start because you got all those plugins, and theme thingys to work. Serves as a great example of what the nanoblog is supposed to look like without the offer.:cool2:

Contact page is just the contact form.
Privacy page im probably not going to finish cause its pointless
Blog page, i set the offer to show the first 2 times a visitor visits the blog. This way its not making the blog look like a sales page.

All in all...my blog is EXTREMELY passive with my offer...but I'm ok with that until I test this layout. I'd rather come off as a true mom/fitness instructor than just a salesperson... its better in long term...plus my traffic volume is still low.
5 posts... 3 trailed to twitter because I set it up late.
2 pings through hootsuite... automatically siphons to over 17 networks (instructions on the action page)
About 12-14 blog responses/google alerts transferred to notify.me
I have 31 visits, and 2 twitter followers. Best of luck to everyone...and merry christmas.

Hi Guys,
I have been very busy so I wasn't able to update the thread with my progress. Here goes:
I am having difficulty driving traffic using the techniques as outlined in guide. Most of the blogs I find in Google alerts seem to be autoblogs and most have commenting turned off and very little readership.
Forums are not any different. I was hoping to find at least 10 forums to participate in but so far I have only found 3.
I am using the Clicky tracking system as outlined in the guide and my referrals from the conversations that I join are very poor. Now I am not saying that this is due to any inefficiency in the system of driving traffic itself (could be my poor commenting) but so far the results haven't been good.
The Twitter Trail
This has been the one element of the process which has opened my eyes. I didn't know a lot about twitter before this guide and so far I am very pleased with the opportunities it has opened. For instance, when I make a blog post and auto tweet the post I get an average 15 visitors to my site. Now this isn't a lot, but when you consider that you can make several posts daily, the numbers start to look inviting.
At this point I am not going to call the method (nanoblogging) a dud, but in retrospect, a better case study of a working nanoblog from the author would have been better. He says it works and he really is convincing about it, but my results have not substantiated this. Perhaps somebody else with better results can attest. I am not giving up though and will report any modicum of success that I have. After all, if I make $1 with this all I have to do is scale.
I am mindful that I need to balance my input with with a good return so I won't waste too much time with this if it continues to suck
