well, I have never bought a domain.
so I don't know much about it.

but what are nameservers.
when I buy a domain, what do I have to do with nameservers.
do they need special care, or is this nothing to worry about.

please explain me all the things i need to know about nameservers:)

thanks

Use google for these type of questions. In short you have to change the nameservers in the registrar to the hosting's nameservers. Your host will provide you with these.

Lets say you buy your domain and hosting from two different places. The domain is more of a pointer than anything. Your hosting has their own ns dns server things eg. ns1.hostadress.com. So they'll give you an address to point at their servers, where your site is hosted. You plug that address into your domain pointer.

ahhh, now it all makes sense.

so when I buy a domain, I'm able to assin that dns thing to it.
and when I buy hosting, they give me their own dns thing, and I can paste it on my domain.

lets say I buy the domain from godaddy, than I will be able to do that on the control panel, right?

thanks,

sorry for posting this as a thread, with google there was simply too many informations. I got a bit confused..
and a lot of time I'm on BHW, so I thought why not asking it here.:o
