Namecheap offered a 99 cent sale on Black Friday. At 12 pm the coupon VERISIGNCB was offered. We purchased 3 domain names at 12:01 and our coupon for 99 cents each was ACCEPTED. We checked out and were billed $29.99 instead of the $3.

We IMMEDIATELY cointacted Namecheap Support and was issued a credit ONLY at their company. No 99 cent domain...no apology...no refund...just a credit at their company and they took $3 for the credit.

Namecheap offers No phone support...just one poor guy, named Serge, who is their online chat punching bag and takes all the abuse very politely.

BOYCOTT Namecheap

i don't know what happen with them to do something stupid like this but they are
my best choice to register domains

Namecheap is so much better than godaddy. And cheaper.
Don't know mate what to say to you. I used a coupon yesterday, and was billed accordingly!

i always use namecheap and they didnt steer me wrong yet. but if i was in your shoes, i would be pissed off. well to be optimistic, you now have credit for more websites.

I got lucky and got 5 domains at about $1.18 ea after taxes, no problem whatsoever (other than the freezing and lagging during checkout, that is), but it has happenned to me too that something goes amiss with a company that has no full phone support and it really is a pain in the gut :p, so I can relate.

I love namecheap, but even though they're a favorite for many of Us, the reality is that they don't have the deep pockets GDaddy does, so they must find ways to cut expenses here and there in order to compete.

A few years back, you could have gone to either one of the main domain forums and they'd have a rep monitoring the threads, but I'm not so sure now. Maybe you could try over their FB fanpage, just tone down your post so that your genuine discontent shows through more than the angry bit. People are more likely to help both to be helpful and save face if they don't feel direct aggression.

PS: For those really important domain names (if you have a medium to large portfolio), I recommend fabulous (.com), they're the most reliable and pro option out there with features that aren't offered at mainstream, all-purpose, upsell paradise domain registrars like godaddy.

I used their BlackFriday Sale coupon and got 5 Domains for .99 and free privacy. You should try emailing them again.

I hope they have some promo for cyber monday.

dam I didn't realise you could buy more than 1 domain with that coupon :(

Yeah there will be promo tommorow according to notice i seen on Friday .

As I know VERISIGNCB was the coupon for SSL certificates, so you cannot use it for domain names at all. :) Also there was the Total Price in the Shopping Cart, and if you see there incorrect price, you should not checkout. It is better to contact support before the checkout.
On Monday Namecheap will have the same promotion again. So you will be able to use the correct coupon.

I've gotten emails from Namecheap on this as well. By the time I got to their site, they had pulled the 99 cent .com offers and were onto the SSL offer.

So I'll wait until Mon and try once again. To date, Namecheap has always treated me right; just make sure that you're actually getting the right offer and the right price at checkout.

i think you are a ripoff! how could you take $3 from them as a credit. you should of said "its ok, anyways im getting 1 year free whois guard!"

Namecheap has been good to me compared to godaddy

I own a company that does internet credit card services for companies.
If the coupon was valid at the time of purchase you can still get your money back.

First, ask him to honor the coupon or refund your purchase within 24 hours.
If he does not you have two options.

1. Shoot him another email and inform him you're contacting the credit card issuer and asking for a chargeback.
A chargeback will cost him at least $25.00 in fees and a bad mark

2. Just call the bank that issued you the card and ask for you money back.

namecheap have been good for me, I'm sure if you email them you'll be sure to get things sorted.

name cheap isnt a ripoff, its the opposite.

Relax, breathe and get online with their 24x7 customer support.
