n00b, hot off the presses

Hey everyone. I've been interested in this kind of stuff for a while, but with my student stipend not covering my bills now, it's the best motivation as I'll ever have. I'm currently pretty much flat broke ($6 cash in my pocket and that's it until next month's check) so there's really nowhere to go but up. Hopefully I'll have some luck with this.
Anyway, nice to meet everyone! I'll be around learning as much as I can. (Already got a little start while lurking today, but nothing huge.)
