And yes, the problem with something like SEO is that most people will try to sell you their course or ebook etc.

You can find some very good guides on here that don't try to sell you anything and give some very good value.

It's possible to find on youtube too, but 95% of the stuff on there is too sell you something.

You can find some good stuff on Niel Patel's channels.

Although I find him annoying af, he does have some fairly good stuff.

Indeed, they miss many of the basics. He has a team full of people trying to clickbait people with new articles and videos, so I don't think he's going for noobies anymore.

He's catering to the people with big banks rather than making the noobies with limited wallets happy.

Why chase pennies when you can get big checks daily. I think he has plenty of big clients to be fighting with those doing the beginners guides.

But he does seem to cater somewhat to the beginners since he bought out UberSuggest and made it free/planning to release it completely free. (Good for branding)

Yeah, I'm in the same spot. I just start a new trial on Ahrefs whenever I need to do some research. $100 is way too much for just a few keyword searches a month.

Recommend taking a look into "seo powersuite" free software that allows you to do most of the same things for free, which a few limitations.
