[FONT=&quot]We are a US based company, we are looking for an experienced programmer that is motivated, willing to learn, innovative, and positive. Our ideal candidate must have strong experience in working with the front-end such as Javascript, CSS, and HTML. In addition working with the back-end such as PHP and MySQL.

Requirements & Experience:

*5 + years of back-end experience in PHP and MySQL
*5+ years of front-end experience in Javascript, CSS, and HTML
*Must have an excellent attitude. We want someone with a positive and motivated attitude / behavior.
*Excellent oral and written communications
*Fluent in English

We will want to see actual production websites you have worked on or built from group. In addition, reference required on request. Compensation will be done through billable hours. We currently start everyone out at $3 per hour. Additionally, we are looking for someone long term.

man.. $3 an hour? that's really low. And you want 5+ years experienced? you got to be kidding me...
 
In India PHP developer having more than 5 yrs experience is paid minimum 50,000-70,000 INR depending on the city/location which comes to $1000-$1500 per month. If you do freelancing you can easily make $2000-$2500 per month.

Here you are offering only $480 per month. Anyway we are based in India and doing seo and web development.

It is said in India, if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. No offense please.
 
$3 for an hour for a Programmer with 5 years experience? are u dreaming?
I am from India and have 4 yrs experience in PHP programming and I charge $20 for an hour.

Try to find a type writer instead of php programmer. This is so easy work do you think and paying 3$/hour. What an offer.
 
Are you kidding me?? I thought Globex is correct, even good Type writer wont accept 3$ an hour. If you need Professional Web designers you can hire me. I got a team of professional web designers experienced in PHP, .NET., check your PM for details about our company.

3 USD an hour? Okay, I can work with you, however, in a typical govt. Style! Spending 30 min in chatting with colleagues, 15 min in looking at what others do, 5 min in toilet, 5 min in tea and 5 min in work. If you agree, PM me the details ;)

why php and mysql? have you consider developers good with ruby on rails (this is what twitter and groupon and alot of other sites are made in)? Also is that 3hr just for trying out the person because developers are constantly in need and with supply and demand 3hrs will not cut it.
 
I would suggest you to focus on Bangladesh or Nepal with the rates you offer. In India, no-one will work for such money anymore. 4-5 years before, the situation was very different. But these Indian guys grew so much from many points of view...

I don't know how they do things in India but the guy flipping hamburgs at McDonald's makes more than $3/hr in the US.

I hired someone there for about what you're offering, and increased $25/month for the 1st 10 months or so.

You'll have to do some screening as with any job type of site, but I've come across a couple decent workers.
 
What some people don't seem to understand is that the only difference between a Service provider from US or UK and one from India, is the standard of living. But, the quality of most good service providers is at par, if not better than their counterparts in US.

I wouldn't find this funny if it was for a data entry job or something with no creativity. Expecting Web designers with 5 years experience for $3 per hour is just atrocious. I get these kind of things quite often, you are from India so write for 30 cents, 40 cents etc.

I guess the answer is simple for such people. If you need to pay $30 per hour for a US designer, nothing wrong in paying 15-20, you still save 40-60%. But, expecting lower than that is like living in fool's paradise!!

And OP... Do not mention names of countries when you post such posts.. You are just underestimating and undervaluing human resources! It's criminal!
