After weeks of trying to understand why Google penalized my website with the helpful content update in late August, I realized the following.

1. The website is still ranking position 1 to 3 for most keywords as before.

2. I lost all featured snippets.

3. I had accidentally turned Adsense Auto Ads to Max, so there were too many ads on the website's mobile pages.

4. I had started using Jasper AI to create content (About 20%)

I have disabled Adsense and waiting to see how it goes. I have also added several author profiles and created their Linkedin accounts.

Next will be to remove all AI articles if, after a month, there is no change.

Please let me know if there is anything else I should do.

about the Jasper content... is it 20% of each article, or 20% of all content? Because if you used 20% AI content in each article then this is definitely not the reason, so this means that 20% of all of your content was written by Jasper. By the way, did you ever manually edit that content and change it at least 50-60%, or you just copy-pasted it as it's been output by Jasper?

EDIT: also, I don't think that Adsense has anything to do with HCU. I mean, your site could have been penalized either by the HCU or by the Adsense max ads, but there's no correlation between these 2 AFAIK, so I wouldn't put them on the same list. If I were to guess, I'd say that its the Adsense spam that got you in trouble, not the HCU. But this is just a guess

Thank you, about 20% of all content is AI. I am still exploring more to find out the cause and you have given me clarity.

If I may ask... is your AI content still ranking?
