IF your whole site's ranking has been hit then probably you are hit by penguin.or may be some of your website's high quality backlinks are degraded by Google.

Whats your backlink profile like including anchor diversity?

Penguin hit URL, not necessary the entire website.

check out "dennica" post on this. put up as great commentary on it and new websites and the honeymoon phase of them. focus on the site and its content. web 2.0's don't seem to be working right now. My sites with the most seo (as white hat as possible) got hit while the sites with no seo went up.

Not enough links from enough sources, not enough anchor text diversity, not a high enough ration of links to inner pages... everyone going around with their head in the sand saying this, when it's clear as day g00gle are taking action on spammy links.

that's normal ,sounds like it's just doing the dance, always happens with new sites that are climbing, u should see it back up soon.

Nice, it can do that. I think it's just Google tossing sites around who aren't big brands who pay them lots for adwords. They are doing their best to kill affiliate sites and it's working. Just look at how much the Alexa traffic has dropped for this site and the other major SEO sites.
