my website is down dramatically from #9 to #20 after several hours.

a few days ago I tried to optimize my website by placing backlinks in google profile, hubpage profile and reddit profile.

but I am so surprised, my website is down dramatically from #9 to #20 after several hours. what is happen with my site?

Google often switches between datacenters so your site may jump from 9 to 20 and back. Also there are so many different factors that you cannot say for sure whether you have overdone it or not. Were it just a few links or a lot and did you already have a lot of (legit) backlinks before ?

I've seen one or 2 of my sites drop like this before and they've come back up again. You need to wait it out for about 2 weeks to be sure if the drop is permananent or not.

I am going to say upfront that I have no idea However, I have had similar results when I have slapped a bunch of links to sites of mine. They have dropped in rank and then climbed back up. I can only GUESS that google is re-evaluating my site with the new links taken into consideration to try and calculate where it should now sit.

i have around 500 backlinks before. Just view I have observed my site and you right that my site "jump from 9 to 20 and back", not to #9 but to #3 . thank's for your explanation.
