You can get total list of back links from Google search console and short list them based on metrics, traffic, spam score and relevancy. And submit the link profile that are not relevant to google and it might take several days but it will be done!

How do the backlinks look like? Is it a serious negative SEO attack or just "normal" link spam?

first of all you have to find out your toxic backlinks. For do that you can use semrush Tools. Then you have to submit those toxic links on google disavow tools.

Tell me more about what happened. My guess is that there were someone else's pages in the index and when you navigate to them, you are redirected to someone else's site. If your site is on WP and you haven't updated plugins and themes in a while, do that first. Then change the passwords to your WP admin account. You will have to check your WordPress files for extraneous code, most likely it is embedded somewhere in Base64 encoding, it can be recognized as a set of obscure characters. If there is a fresh backup of the site, you can roll back any changes that were made by the attacker.

You can bulk batch disavow links with GSC disavow tool.
Furthermore, Google doesn't view negative links the same way anymore and G will probably take care of a lot of those themselves.
