edit: My pyramid looks shit but the forum doesn't allow multiple white spaces in a row so bare with it plz

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to give you guys my experience using a pyramid strategy.
    My setup:

    $moneysite
    | | |
    2.0 site -- 2.0 site -- 2.0 site
    | | |
    500 profiles -- 500 profiles -- 500 profiles
    | | |
    2k profiles -- 2k profiles -- 2k profiles

3 days after the blasting (no indexing done myself),
one of the 2.0 sites has reached page1 for my keyword
and my moneysite is stuck at page 3 (where it was all along)

This sucks!! :D But at least I've learned and WON'T do this again
    Has anyone else experienced this?
    Perhaps I'm missing something?

Anyway, I'm just going back to blasting my money site directly ;)

Trial and Error my friend Rome wasn't built in a day......

Diversify your links, write a few Unique quality articles if you must spin (and I don't) then do it well, publish and anchor text them back to your money site. Find a few do follow niche blogs and write some quality replies to the topics covered (not spambollocks) again use anchor text where you can, carefully at first until you get the trust of the author, (this also helps you to diversify your anchors).

Rinse and repeat and see where it is in a Month.

Blast your web 2's and your unique articles and eventually it will come.

Don't use your KW as the anchor text when linking to your doorway sites. Just use niche related keywords. For example if your KW is dog training

    $$$
    | (Anchor: (Dog Training)
    2.0
    | (Anchor: (Dog Breeding)
    Profiles
    | (Anchor: (Pet Care, Dog Food, Animal Sex Stories, etc)
    Profiles

That way your own sites aren't competing with your money site.

    Thanks for the information guys.

    Mudbutt:
In the signature I did use my main keyword, mistake mistake!

    Followup question:
I have a few sites and I've been blasting directly to those sites for a while now yet they haven't been sandboxed or w.e.

If we would take away the "blasting directly to your money site may results in it being sandboxed"-issue, would there still be any benefit left for NOT backlinking directly to those moneysites?

I think the pyramid strategy still has value -- as a long-term strategy.

3 days just doesn't seem enough time. Each of those intermediate pages need time to build up their individual strength, which then pushes out. This is especially true if your Web 2.0 sites are relatively new domains.

This pyramid approach has actually worked very well for me. But it took me over six months to get my web 2.0 sites ranking high and building PR2-4. I also made sure that those sites have very good content. But their link juice is now awesome -- and can be used for multiple money sites.

But as a short-term strategy, yes, you're better off hitting your main sites with the bulk links. But of course, you run a higher risk.

3 days isn't even given it a fair tryout. The actual pyramid is very basic and probably spotted by google a mile off.Do it properly takes time. You need to build up wordpress sites with decent content FIRST and rank them in the top 5 pages THEN add your link.Oh and don't even think about blasting a wordpress.com site, use quality links, blog engine and SMF links as little wordpress links as poss for obvious reasons.
Just use senuke to get your web 2's sorted.Look at any pyramid as if YOU ARE trying to trace it.Is it natural for a web 2 page to get 500 profile links no.I doubt it's normal even using a web2 bookmark as a profile link period.
You need to control the pyramid as much as possible,if not totally for them to work very well.
I believe you'll see a move up over time.To not realise your web 2's will get to the first page faster shows in experience to me.Of course they will rise fast but they drop as fast usually as well and thats when you'll start climbing.
Try an AMR blast to your money site,it's the fastest way to get a jump I've seen.I only blast direct I don't bother with wasting my time promoting web 2 bookmarks and the like. Some good answers above namely anchor text diversity and link diversity.
Google your keyword and look for newspaper sites on the first page and then add a very good comment and place your link in.I do it as often as possible because it's relevant most mods approve it.But the comment must be top class.
The same applies for 1st page blogs,I've seen me write almost an article length reply but the link is in and 9\10 it gets approved. If a few sites on the 1\2nd pages are seen linking to you, you'll climb and over time rise above them, they are linking to YOU afterall.I love scrapebox, but it is one piece of a rather diverse puzzle.I usually build strong links then I blast away.I have NEVER seen any adverse effects and I blast directly inc inner pages of course.I bet you've just put your main url,not the best idea.
You'll learn and then you will see the reward.
    Best of luck.

My experience, I created about 16 Web2.0 sites aimed at the money and then a bunch or articles at the Web2.0 sites and then pinged the lot with SB.

After 3 months my money site is #16 on Google and
#1,2,5,6,8,9 are my Web2.0 sites and #4 is one of the articles!!

Very low global monthly searches though ~ 500.

in your illustration you show 3 web 2.0 sites which link directly to your moneysite. do you have more than these three? maybe that's the problem. you maybe need 20, or 50 high quality web 2.0 propertys pointing directly to your moneysite. each of these web 2.0 sites should still get 500 profile links and each of these their own 2000 backlinks.

what programs are you using to do these blasts?

like others said, 3 days is quite short to draw conclusions. is it a competitive keyword your are targeting?

    @Tensen

You need to build more that 3 web 2.0 props try 50 and then back these up with more web 2.0 props and back everything up with profiles, SB etc. Then you should see some results.

The industry that your site is makes a difference on how long it will take for your SEO work to kick in. I would never use spun articles. Google will penalize you. If not now then later. SEO is a multi facet approach. Web 2.0 marketing is of course great and does work as long as you do it with no shortcuts. I would do that but add to it a blog that you post to and adding articles to your site as well and then get content backlinks and then you are to the races. I hope this helps
