Howdy Shez!

Thanks OOODLES :)

Actually I was moving in the blog direction, looking for ways to automate things, but ran afoul of a product called unique article builder but didn't find a way to monetize it. It's all articles, vvery dry and without the twitter following.

I've got an apple site set up (just as my first site. A) always wanted one and B) wanted to do things as close to your idea as possible so that I could replicate it as faithfully as possible) at http://thebigapple.webneur.com if you or anyone wants to take a look.

A little tip for people who want to set up something like this: Up til now I've been going straight to godaddy and buying domain straight from their buy it now section. Goto a site like freshdrop.com. You can frequently find an already pr ranked domainname you can buy for like $5 + first years domain charge. My webneur.com domain cost me about $6 + 10.69 for the first year and is a PR 3 domain already.

It DOES work though. I set up the site two days ago, and even without twitterfall I'm getting about 100/day targeted visitors and they stay around to read 5-10 posts.

But I ran into a problem with categories. I have NOOOOOO clue why, but I added all of my categories to the blog from the posts/categories link on the wp/dashboard. But when I added a categories widget to the blog, it didn't see my categories!!! Just kept saying 'No Categories'.

I went so far as to last night, tearing the whole thing down and rebuilding it piece by piece, one slow step at time until I figured out what to do about it.

For some reason I had to hand create a post and add the categories that I wanted to it. That was it. Once I created a post instead of depending on the Robot to do it, and created all of the categories by hand in the add new post section, it took right off. Bizzare!

Couple of questions:

1) How do I set up an RSS feed for it. lol. I've got 25 years of experience as a professional computer computer consultant and I've already forgotten more about computers than most people will ever know, but for some dad-blamed reason RSS just won't stick. I think when I hit the button it says something about the owner of the site needs to set up a feedly feed. i know feedly and I know feed but exactly how do I set it up with the robot.

2) I created a personal theme in a product called Artisteer 2 for the blog so had a devil of a time finding just the right place in the single.php file to put the ad code, but finaly nailed it down. lol. probably went overboard on it. Only have ads in the ipod touch category right now but the ads are definitely the most time consuming part of it. But, the single file:

I have the ads for the ipod touch in there. I just add the code for the say, Ipod Nano to the single file in just the same way that I did the ipod touch ads and depend on the ad manager to figure out which one is the right categories are which?

3) Can you add adsense code to this? prolly won't but just wanted to check.

4) Sigh. I dont have an affiliate for ebay and that's pretty flaky nowadays I hear. Clickbank ads suck. Vendors there are more interested in making affiliates than in selling to customers. Articles, yahoo answers and news and youtube can attract people but don't really sell in and of themselves. So I guess it's down to amazon ads unless I've missed something and that's pretty restrictive. Am I misunderstanding something here?

Well, I've been long-winded enough here. Thanks once again for a most excellent method. No profit yet but at least people are looking inside the window so to speak ;)

Thanks again for the help!

Dean :D

PS had to rebuild it twice and getting to the point where I can build it in about 4 hrs so can spend the rest of my time twitterfalling, trolling for traffic. you're also right inthat it spiders like crazy. They just love it.

Hi Dean, thanks for the post. I've shortened it down when quoting you so I can answer the questions part of it.

Yes, it is correct that when you create a category it will not appear in the
menu until you have a post in that category.

For the RSS feed, if a website has an RSS feed, when you view that page,
in the address bar of your browser you will see the orange RSS icon. If
you click that icon it will take you to another page displaying the RSS
feed content. All you need to do is copy the URL of THAT page and add it
to WP Robots RSS section.

I tend to stay away from creating my own themes, Artisteer is great but
it uses a very basic theme for you to then customize. There are so many
great, free, themes that you can use which probably look nicer than
what Artisteer will let you create. Plus it can take so long tweaking a theme
that you've created yourself that it's jut not worth the time.

You CAN add AdSense to the blogs, this is easily done via the plugin called
Advertising-Manager.

It is easy to monetize the blogs via eBay, Amazon and ClickBank due to
the WP Robot plugin but you can also monetize it via any form of
affiliate program, again, via Advertising-Manager.

The idea of posting YouTube videos and news items (via RSS) isn't to
earn money from, they are there to create useful content for your blog
and your visitors. As you have already seen, when someone visits your
blog they will view more than the initial page. So, bring them in by using
video posts and let them browse the rest of your blog where your
monetized pages are.

Does the adder from pyrogenic media still work. I see that there are some problems with the amount of followers you can add... What's the daily limit now?

Thanks for the reply Mick.

I'd love to put ebay on the site but that would take an ebay affiliate link wouldn't it? Not easy to come by I'm afraid.

I tried the Clickbank ads but all they come out with are comissions and affiliate descriptions hat the customer isn't really going to be interest in unfortunately.
Thanks for the word on the RSS feed. I'll work on that.

Actually, I might try commission junction. I reecently opened an account with them. Heard about too many google slaps to want to put a lot of adsense on there. Might try a couple though. Thanks again for your help!

Hi, sorry, I've not use that program so I can't comment on it.

Been looking into this, and props to shezboy for outlining it.

Just a word of warning, I was using Hummingbird to automate followers for my twitter account, and it got suspended pretty quickly.

Hi, can you give a little detail as to how you was using it? How new was
your account? How many people did you follow and over what time frame?

How many people did you unfollow, again, over what time frame?

By outlining these details it may help others to work out what they should
avoid so they don't get their account suspended.

Thanks in advance for your advice on that.

Tried to reply earlier, but BHW ate my post and went away for a bit.

Created the account and was following with hummingbird within 30 minutes...

I set hummingbird to auto follow anyone who mentioned my keyword (with any rating from F- upwards), which in turn will have added a tonne of spam accounts; i think this was the problem.

Advice: take it easy with the following, do it manually at first, get the account mature and a few updates under your belt.

shezboy - what was your following technique? Apologies if it's in your guide, skipped through a lot of it as I am familiar with the plugins etc.

I'm finding slow and steady is definitely the way to go here.

I'm using shezboy's method of following 50 per day (per account) and unfollolwing no more than 10% of my total followers and seem to be humming along nicely. (knock on wood)

I think the key and maybe often over looked point here is to have multiple Twitter accounts that you're building up all the time.

Just my thoughts.

Wow! This is a great piece of information. I just updated one of my blogs with Shezboy's method and hope to see results soon.

No problem, here is a link to another thread in this forum where I created a
series of videos that show this method in detail. It's in the "Members Download"
section. These videos will show you everything about this entire method.

What is better, Wprobot rss or yahoo news? I want it for content on a sport blog.

Personally I just use the RSS option as it is much more versatile but this is
just a personal choice, it doesn't mean it's the right or wrong thing to do for
a particular blog.

As 'makingfastcash22' said below, try both of them for a greater mix of content.

Test and test and see what works best.

Great stuff shezboy.....worth many times the price of most wso's. I'll be heading over to your new post, really appreciate your share.

It's ashame so many good share's like wprobot are no longer available......seems like all the good stuff is disappearing. In this case, I would have liked to try it before making a purchase.

I've always had a certain fear of autoblogs...but looks like many of you guys are having great results....thanks again for sharing your wisdom :)

Hey guys, need some help here.

I am using Wprobot yahoo news in my blog, but no thumbnails are showing in the posts. Any idea as how to fix this?
