My traffic went down 90% after PR update

I had 200+ uniques per day but when G did the PR update i went from a PR0 to a PR2 blog.You would assume that will mean a spike in visitors but it backfired big time and now iam gettin 20-30 uniques a day.Iam destroyed help me guys.

Another top player in my niche had similar thing done to him.

Have you checked that all the main entry pages on your site are functioning properly. Sometimes you install a new program that has nothing to do with a subdirectory or subdomain on your host.. but sometimes it ends up affecting other pages. Like when you install a new proggie on the root with a modified .htaccess fille.

So, all I can say is check all your sites main entry pages. Check that your videos on youtube haven't been suspended. Basically just do a quick check of simple things you wouldnt expect to go wrong. Sometimes it's the simplest sh!t that caused the worst headaches.

And hopefully this isn't your only source of income. Putting all your eggs in one basket is not a good idea.

Welcome to my world. When g did the jagger update a couple years ago I went from most serps in the top 10 to the cellar virtually overnight. That's why I'm here.
One bit of advice would be to not panic yet. Things have a way of shaking out and on numerous occasions (before jagger), my serps and pr would go up and down and then settle back into their usual place.

Same exact thing has happened to me. All PR went up. And all my traffic has disappeared.

It was organic traffic not referrals.I can prolly make similar site and link to it with the older(higher pr) site.

PR updates all the time. Its only visual PR that updates every blue moon. There are no effects toolbar PR update would have on a website.

You should keep an eye on your sources of traffic. So that next time it goes down you know exactly what went wrong.

And what are you going to achieve with that? Do you realise you need thousands of related backlinks from quality sites?

Yea, just shows you how much PR actually blows. I have a bunch of PR5 BANS sites that get like 10 daily uniques lol

Have you checked the number of your indexed pages. Mine have gone to zero.

Its back with the usual traffic now.
The site was in sandbox mode from 1 may(PR updated to 2) to 19th may
glad its back but its weird google strategy....
