My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, families and everyone else (member here or not) affected by the massive Typhoon Haiyan that hit the Philippines. Guys don't Thank this thread.. I just wanna send my condolence, I just realized this an hour ago what happened and I could post the same thing on my fb status though I don't think I have any filipino friends on there and sad too say I don't think many people care on my friend list, so I'd rather post it here..

Also Vietnam and else where is hitting right now and going to hit..

thanks man! though other parts of our country were totally destroyed...
Hoping that they can still get up..

I know they can but it will take time...

What happen to our country, specifically in the Visayas was very terrible :( A lot of people are still missing, and a lot of towns are still unreachable for rescuers and help. The typhoon that hits Philippines was 3.5 times more stronger than Hurricane Katrina. The Philippine government are now getting millions of money from other countries to help the victims and I hope they will be used for the victims and not to the politicians bank accounts. To anyone who wants to help and donate, you can check out the links here http://edition.cnn.com/2013/11/09/world/iyw-how-to-help-typhoon-haiyan/?hpt=hp_t1 or here http://www.rappler.com/move-ph/issues/disasters/43300-reliefph-victims-typhoon-yolanda-help.

Thanks OP for the post. God bless everyone!

good luck and i really hope the poorest there will get help as well.

This is all over the news in the US. Sorry to see this happen. Made a donation through Paypal to the Philippine red cross, I hope its gets in the right hands. God bless the Philippines.

Thanks for this post man, what's happening in our country is like a nightmare. After a magnitude 7.2 earthquake that struck the central part of the Philippines came a super typhoon which even brought worse amount of casualties. Disaster agencies have estimated the death toll to be over 10,000. What's terrifying is that there is another storm brewing in the Pacific Ocean which is expected to make a landfall on the previously devastated cities.:(

I'm from philippines don't waste money donating unless you go here personally and donate to affected people not tru anybody.... 50% of the money will go to politicians pockets.. I know that... poor country yet politicians getting advantage of the situation... also people on a specific area broke unto a closed mall and stole everything they don't even need like tv and refrigerator refer to this news http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/video/na...sano-mall-tacloban-city#.Un5sUM1ly58.facebook very sad....

The death toll is much more than 10,000.10,000 died in only one province. I've been to the Philippines and have friends there,my prayers goes for the people there.

Omg, cant believe, have lots of friends there from BHW, hope theyare 100% ok :(

Do they have flood insurance?

WTF! There's well over 10,000 people dead here, its going on right this second, they need urgent help from the whole international community, food, water, shelter, people still need rescuing, children lost their families, the last thing that is on anyone's mind at the moment is whether they had insurance, what a useless and insensitive comment.

God bless them all, and my thoughts are with them now as they have been for the entire day.

I understand that you have a valid concern but for goodness sake, please don't degrade fellow Filipinos here in this forum. Corruption is everywhere, and so as looting. When you start to feel hunger and you know that help is nowhere to arrive sooner than 3 days, what will you do? Our fellows, just needed to survive. They haven't eaten much and from now on, I believe it gets harder because of total black out and no tele-communications available.

We can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone...

You don't really need to personally go over to the RP to donate whatever you can to these people. your statement will make BHW peps doubt the donation campaigns of even some of credible organizations. Instead of looking to the negative side of the bad situation, why don't you do your part to help your fellow Pilipino kababayans?

For your convenience, here is the link of one of the trusted organizations where you can make your donation.

Stop whining like a kid and start donating!
