I have finally reached my first goal.

My main keyword is #2 on the First Page of Google.

I have followed lots of White Hat tips shared here. Put some Greyhat and after less than 8 months I am ranking 2nd in a 30M Search result keyword.

It is funny though that the Adword Keyword tool estimates a 20,000 search volume for this keyword while I am only getting 3,000 from that specific keyword. However, I am still happy with the results and want to thank all contributes for their amazing success stories and shares here.

PS: I know I have a very low post count, but I am one quite observer reading all new threads. lol

Well. I am not as smart as 90% of you guys here ;)

Here is how I reached #2 in SERPS for a competitive keyword using mostly white hat techniques:

1) I submitted an article to eZine for every main page of my website which is approximately 40 Main Pages. What I mean my Main Page is each page that has a high potential on making money either via Selling a Product, affiliating a product, etc..

2) Later on, I submitted these articles to 20 other Article directories. I spun some articles but mostly were the same

3) Created backlinks via blog commenting on mostly on-niche pages with PR1+ .

4) Created a small link wheel consisting of 4-5 web2.0 pages.

5) Ping every page with my link on.

6) Last but not least. PATIENCE
 
well done, im presuming your 30m competition is broad match. What is your competition exact match? i.e. with quotes around the search phrase?
 
Oh!! I have used quotes and it got me 204,000 results.

Is that still considered a competitive niche?

EDIT: I have also hit #3 for a keyword with 90M broad match and 2M with quotes.
I would be more than happy to help anybody here if they have any questions.

strange - I just did the search on my phrase and look at the results:

without quotes: 1,000,000

with quotes: 250,000,000

That is impossible.
When you do a search using the quote marks, Google returns only those pages which have that exact phrase on it. For example, if I search for:

some random phrase that I type

it will give me any pages which have all of those words somewhere on the page (or in the URL, or in the meta tags, etc).

When I search for:

"some random phrase that I type"

it will only give me pages which have that exact phrase (ie those words together, exactly as in between the quote marks).

This technique is often used by people researching keywords for use with niche sites, as it lets them know exactly how many other sites have the exact phrase they are targeting. These sites may be their competition!

Make sure you are using the right quotations by pressing SHIFT + (The 2nd button on the right side of the L)
 
I agree something funny happened but I still have the screen up. I understand how the quotes works too, I've been doing SEO for some time now.

Anyway same search different tab gives good results - with quotes is less.

Go figure...don't waste anymore time on this

I am not making gold with this.. But a decent 4 to 5 dollars per hour which is a good 5 figure annual profit.

I have read here people making 100x more which is actually my main target... But again, you have to cross a couple of milestones before reaching your main target :)

12 months ago, I got a pen and paper and wrote down my goals revenue-wise. If anybody is wondering, here is what was written down there:

1) Reach a steady $1.00 per week (Done)
2) $1.00 per day (Done)
3) $10.00 per day (Done)
4) $50.00 per day (Done! I quit my job and told my boss to go fu%k himself)
5) $200.00 per day (Just reached that)
6) $500.00 per day (Oh boy, can't wait)
7) $1,000 per day (cough)

For me, the first and second milestones were the hardest. I got stuck at the fourth milestone for a couple of months but finally im done with it :)

I am not a genius. I just work hard.
To all newbies: You will not see results overnight. Keep working hard, dont give up!!
If I can do it, anybody can.

Sure, you can ask all you want (As long as I am not revealing my niche(s) ) :)

My revenue is strictly from Affiliate promotions and promoting my own stuff.
 
Well..congrats bro..keep it going..don't stop..but remember, if it making you money..continue what you are doing..if it don't..find another profitable niche and repeat the same process..
 
Thank you Noeriddin. I am currently reading more about CPA! I have heard lots of people making good money out of it.

I applied to about 15 CPA companies 2 days ago. I got rejected by most due to unavailability of CPA offers in my niche.

I do however recommend Peerfly for international users like myself.

Peerfly approved my account in less that 24 hours without having to receive any calls from them.
 
i am still confused how many links i can pull on a new site in a specified timeframe...

most of my link submissions dont show effects :(
