For the last 6 or 7 months I've had a very reliable strategy for ranking sites. Nothing that complicated - just targeting fairly low competition keywords and using article submission with AMR for backlinks.

It's been working like a charm up until the last couple of weeks. Now it just doesn't seem to be working at all.

I don't profess to be an expert with SEO at all but I do have a pretty good understanding of what's needed for it to work.

I can only guess that it's maybe the latest panda update that's causing this as nothing I'm doing on my end is different.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be very welcome..

I am having the same problem, I make two websites, low comp keyword "the same", did nothing on one except for on page seo and back linked the other with bookmarks wikis and web 2. Both of them are next to each other and out ranked by aged banner farms with no content. Only thing they have is age, I am beginning to loose faith in back linking.

Yeah it's annoying. I don't really care that much as I want to move away from SEO anyhow since it's too unpredictable for me. The only trouble is I have a lot of work built up that has to be done.

Does anyone know of a reliable strategy for ranking that works atm?

Your problem is that you rely on one type of link to rank. This is not going to work...ever. This is why the entire forum is up in arms about blog networks not working, because they rely on those links alone.

The key to SEO has always been, and will always be diversity. Get as many links, from as many sources you possibly can.

I have been using diverse links, when I said web2 wiki and bookmark, I was just giving an example. I have used a lot of other links and not spammy blasts. My problem is the sites above mine have no on page seo or anything. Just a sentence and a shit load of banners.

I have this problem with so many sites, I never really find out why some sites I have with lot of text and all seo I know and lot of diversified backlinks ranks so bad. My only option for this is just to move on and build another site while still getting more backlink to the first project and eventually after some time it ranks well. For some sites it took me even years. What is also good is contacting google and politely ask them for reconsideration of your position. It works if you have quality content.
