I pretty much grew up on the internet. I left public school around 5th grade and studied by myself at home, using the internet as a resource to learn just about anything I wanted to...and I was a real hungry soul. :D

Easily my greatest timesink was Yahoo Messengers' chat rooms. Specifically, I was a very active member of the Role Playing Games rooms, or the "User Rooms" of that section. It taught me a lot about writing properly, quickly, and most importantly, creatively. I have since authored a novel...which was destroyed by a Windows XP crash. I've been a Linux user ever since.

None of this was getting me a career, however, so when my father's company went out of business, I decided to head off for College. However, even with FAFSA, my loan totaled out to 8k per semester. On top of that, the "Parent Plus" loan they required totaled to around 6.5K a semester. I signed the loan, as did my parents (who are 60 and 61 [I was adopted when they were 40]), but I soon realized they would never be able to pay it off. So I left college.

Having nothing else to do, I eventually bumped in to this site called "Tycoon Cash Flow". They promised a way to make money online, and it was endorsed by all these companies, etc.

Well, I was suspicious, of course, so I Googled "Tycoon Cash Flow scam". What I found is that they were, in fact, not a scam, but the people who ran it weren't particularly intelligent, either. You see, they left their paid members area wide open for a Google search. You can just search "Tycoon Cash Flow member's area" and walk right in.

I watched the videos and learned about how these people were using Clickbank+Google Adwords to make money. Well, after signing up for Google Adwords, I tried promoting some Clickbank products using it...and, of course, it didn't work. So nuts to them.

The point here is that this is how I found out about SEO, and, eventually, landed here at Black Hat World. I've been doing my research and the like, and now I've come down to a rather basic decision; considering my impending loan repayments (which have been on forebearance), I need to pick a method and stick with it.

It's boiled down to two methods; do I work to build content in a Wordpress/Blogspot, building backlinks and getting advertising revenue using Google Adsense (I think I know the right niche/content to produce), or do I seek someone to hire me to do writing in the long term for a pre-existing blog?

For a company which supposedly makes everyone so much money, Clickbank sure doesn't work. >_>

Basically, I just want to know if I'm on the right track or if I've got some thought process horribly wrong. My introduction to this business has been wonky and only guided by my own ability to research.

I guess it's just my inner humility wanting to make a reality check. I've been burned one too many times, you see.

Edit: On the other hand, I guess I'm also asking if there would be any particular way to leverage my background and all the skill that comes with it (Linux, Creative Writing, Web Research, etc) to make money in or with a particular method.

If you can drive alot of traffic to your site through SEO you can make some money with adsense, try a CPA network tho, you can make alot more money then adsense but it depends what niche your doing.

So you quit school to hang around in your basement chatting on yahoo messenger and dream about IM. What do you want - a cookie?

You made the wrong choice not pursuing an education when you had a chance. IM could be snuffed out tomorrow for all we know.

Once Who takes his education off " turns his switch to wisdom and future off aswell :(

P.s "sorry for this " but My school days were the best days of my Life.

Yes i loved Computer like a geek does :/ that just didnt make me quit education.

I've never let my school interfere with my education.

Also, OP - sounds like you need to stick with something and do what you like till it works. CB does work, if you work it. Keep on keep'n on.

I actually would have stuck with college, if it weren't for my 60 year old parents not being able to pay off my "parent plus" loan. They already had to pay for my three sisters.

I already checked in with scholarships, FAFSA, any federal assistance, and so forth. There's just no help for it.

Edit: Also, I didn't really get out of College for the express purpose of using IM. IM is just something which came after that, a hopeful way to pay off my loan. Hope it works. ;)

Theres always a way to pay for school. School work programs part time, after school side jobs etc.

You have no idea how much free time you have when you are young w/o major responsibilities till later. If you want to go to college go to college, just don't think that tomorrow you are going to wake up making money online (even though possible) and don't focus on just loans and grants as a dead end solution.

Get a job at anywhere

I'm not sure about this. After all, when any entity runs an "education" facility, it is almost inevitable that they will do it for their purposes, rather than a simple common good, even if that entity is the government.

Ah, but sadly, there just isn't a way this time.

Aside from that, I lack the transportation I once had. My parents sold off my old Civic for junk, since it was overheating. In order to get a new job, my Dad had to buy this really fancy car to become a financial advisor to old folks (crazy, I know, but it's supposed to appeal to their tastes and so forth). He works for one of my sisters.

Due to this lack of transportation, I couldn't attend a traditional college even if I wanted to, and I certainly can't get a job. About the only thing I have left is my internet connection.

And certainly, I don't make any assumptions that I'm going to wake up rich. I'm just doing my best and making a reality check with you all. So thanks!

Don't confuse school with education or skills.

I was going to school with no books, not even a bag and I had very good grades and you know why? Because instead of reading stupid short passages they were putting in those books I was doing my research online, learning more and more

I remember when I was younger one of my hobbies was geography and I learned every single countries capital in the world (I'm serious)

History was another thing which really inspired me and I was reading online a hell lot of information

I was the only one I didn't fear any exams at all because I knew, no matter what grade I would get, I knew I would succeed at the end

So, to the OP, I just tell you to follow your passion and it will pay you off at the end of the road

CPA or adsense both will work although combo is good option... Where you make one landing page and promote CPA offer and all other pages you use adsense. Connect all pages to your landing page. Other pages should be on related keyword and start promoting them.

One very good investment will be to buy scrapebox then you don't have to buy any other list or program and all can be done. You will not need any other tool until you make enough and ready to scale it up. You can use some other free tools like market samurai, IBP, link-assistant (not free but available in forum)...

Start writing content on your site and making backlinks, soon you will be able to make good money.

CXdigital, azoogleads, copeac, neverblue and clickbooth are good CPA network to try. You can also use market health and click bank.

Read forum (try our famous search button) :)

Hey, I did it!

I got accepted into MaxBounty!

I haven't made any money yet, but I'm going to find a solid method and stick with it.

Thanks, everyone! I'll post here again once I've made some cash.
