My Story & Request for Guidance
I really need your suggestions on learning a skill so I can start earning. Let me begin with my story:
I’m 17 years old and from Nepal. I finished high school (Class 12) about two years ago, but right now I don’t have any skills or part-time jobs. I’ve tried different ways to make money to support my family—even small things like print-on-demand, surveys, and other online methods—but none of them worked for me.
Being from Nepal brings its own challenges. I don’t have access to many platforms that people in other countries use. For example, a lot of websites don’t accept Nepal for affiliate programs or platforms like Redbubble. We also don’t have international payment systems here, which makes starting things like dropshipping very difficult.
English is my second language, so I hope you can understand me. Sometimes I feel like I can’t do anything for my family, and that makes me worry about my future. I didn’t go to college, and when I see my friends and cousins moving forward, I feel like I’m not being a good son for my parents. But it’s not because I’m not trying.
I wanted to learn graphic design, but the course costs around 30,000 NPR ($300), and I also don’t have a laptop—which would cost another 40,000 NPR (~$400) secondhand. My parents can’t afford that, since the average salary in Nepal is about 25,000 NPR ($250) per month. Still, I know I need to learn some skill in order to support my family.
Recently, I started learning Canva because it works well on a mobile phone—the only device I have. So, my question is: What skills can I learn just by using my phone?
I didn’t want to just search on YouTube because many “gurus” there seem more interested in their profit than in actually helping. That’s why I’m asking here—I trust real people more than clickbait.
Thank you so much for reading my story.
