I don't know about monetization but Myspace is still working & give good back link.

My Space is a great site to get backlinks. It offers high DA and contextual links, which is great. I think that is it only value now. Hope someday it will change the platform to somewhat look like another Facebook.

With only 5m monthly traffic (Monthly Visits) it's not that good for making a lot of money ..
