My situation - will this proxy setup work?

Hi,

I've been doing a ton of research and are about to start a few ventures. My area of knowledge weakness is IPs, Proxies, etc... Could you please see if I've got this right.

DILEMMA
I have previously created some wordpress blogs and youtube accounts for my 9to5. These can't get screwed up, or it would be BAD NEWS for me. That said, I'm ready to start some IM experiments.

My fears based on stuff I've read here are:

1. Youtube banning a new account I create, and deleting my existing business accounts along with it
2. I plan to start some auto and niche blogs, use scrapebox, MS, etc... I don't want Google to become unhappy with any of this, and then kill my other existing blogs
3. ???? Other concerns I should have?

One option I was considering was using a second computer, get DSLextreme and do all the new stuff from that computer. Bit of a pain and $15+ a month.

BUT - I'm wondering if buying a packet flip proxy and setting up Firefox to use it with all the new stuff I do might not be a viable option?

Will this setup keep my 100% with my prior accounts? (I won't be doing anything near illegal). If I do this, will logging into a current youtube account with the new proxy be recorded, or is it only the IP you create the account with?

sidenote update: I just found out packetflip doesn't like ScrapBox, so I'd use another provider for the proxy.

work this from an average of about 500-1k unique proxies there each day

Can anyone give some input on my issue? I'd appreciate it.

Yes, using individual proxies for each youtube account, will keep them seperated and "safe" in your own terms. Good luck!

Ideally, when you create the new accounts, you'd record what proxy IP you used. Then, for all future logins/activity, you'd use the same IP over and over. Though I'm not sure that's really going to be possible with proxies given their transient nature...

What I described would be ideal though.
I have no doubt that these web2.0 sites are using software these days to sort of "footprint" what a REAL USER looks like - and most people who use sites like facebook, youtube, etc login via the same IP every single time.

Clearly user generated content ("web2.0") sites are getting wise to our games.
We're definitely going to have to step our hiding games to be successful now and in the future for the purposes of creating and maintaining multiple accounts. This validates my fears/suspicions outlined above, I feel.

Thanks dirtc. Your description does sound ideal, although tough as you pointed out. We didn't know how good we had it back when YT didn't care...

I'm also guessing your belief that they track everything your account does over it's life is tracked (IPs, etc...). For many web 2.0 site, not just YT.

Sucks cause I've got a few IM ideas I really want to try (grey hat at worst, no black), but I'm worried about crossing my legit work accounts.

What if I forget to turn on the proxy and log into my new account?
What if I forget to turn of the proxy and log into my old account?
What if Google gets pissed at something i try for an Autoblog or Adsense and kills my legit blogs?
Blah blah blah blah blah....

Oh well, look on the bright side - the harder is, the less competition we'll have.
But let's see if we can't get that list of "hide me" parameters together so BH'ers can have an advantage.
