tonlilaz, I've been thinking about this lately, as most of us depend of G's ranking to get most of the traffic.
You seem to know a lot bout the subject, could you throw in your personal suggestions on how to do this? All I hear is "build a community", which I'm doing right now with some sites, but find it hard to pull with some niches/products.

your not in the sandbox if you are showing up, you just experienced "new site syndrome" where you get a benefit of the doubt placement on page 1, then settle into a proper positoin

Gotta agree with other comments, that many backlinks for a new site and all in a small space of time is a great way to get sandboxed or even get a black mark .
